This upper-middle-range hotel is just one block from the beach, and offers tourists a lot of bang for their buck: a central location that's also quiet and private, a beautifully modern on-site restaurant, and a large outdoor pool with patio. Daily happy hours with free cocktails; clean, contemporary guest rooms; and excellent staff and management further enhance the property. While the hotel is within walking distance of various restaurants, shops, and entertainment, nearby transportation options to other parts of the city can be limited. Watch out for a pesky amenity fee to cover Wi-Fi in rooms, phone calls, and a welcome drink.
Scene
Modern and sophisticated with bold touches
The bold red stairs at the entranceway offer a perfect introduction to Red South Beach Hotel, leading guests into a striking lobby decorated in the hotel’s signature red, white, and black color palette. The lobby is clean and bright, with inviting seating arrangements, and unique details like bright red chandeliers, red-framed elevators, and an eye-catching, illuminated front desk. Convenient features like a tour desk with travel information, an ATM, and lemon infused water are available for guests. The indoor entrance to the hotel’s on-site restaurant, Barok, is right off the lobby. While kids are welcome here, most of the guests are couples.
Location
In a quiet corner of South Beach
Easy to spot from the street with its bright white exterior and red stairs at the entrance, the Red South Beach Hotel is located on a quiet corner of Collins Avenue, just one block from the beach. Guests are a safe and easy walk to the water, but also have access to a number of nearby restaurants, shops, bars, and entertainment options. While the property is still close to plenty of nearby activities, it’s far enough from the main center of South Beach to offer guests a bit more privacy and quiet than some of its competitors. Travelers wanting to explore more of Miami will find several bus stops nearby, but the hotel does not offer any shuttle services. There's limited (and pricey) valet parking, or guests can opt for a cheaper self-parking lot nearby.
Rooms
Bright whites, vivid reds, and bold furnishings
The three different room types at the Red South Beach Hotel are all bright, clean, and welcoming, and decorated in shades of bold scarlet and brilliant white. The smallest and most economical guest rooms are the 185-square-foot Petite Queen Rooms, which are beautifully decorated and offer the basics, including a memory foam mattress, in-room safe, desk, mini-fridge, and coffeemaker. A red rotary-style phone sits on the nightstand. The Standard King rooms are a bit larger, at 250 square feet; the most spacious rooms are 275-square-foot Pool View Doubles, with two double beds. Bathrooms consist of glass encased shower/tub combinations and single square sinks. Some rooms have partial ocean views while others overlook the street.
Features
Modern restaurant, spacious patio, and a great location

Some packages include a free continental breakfast. The lovely outdoor patio has plenty of space for lounging and tanning, and the pool is clean and fairly large. A small fitness room is available. Guests are charged a daily amenity fee that provides free Wi-Fi, as well as use of loaner laptop computers, beach towels and chairs, and a free daily cocktail at happy hour.
