This budget property caters to travelers looking to save. The location is extremely convenient to the airport, and almost all Miami attractions are less than a 20-minute drive away. But its address also means plenty of jet noise. Freebies are extensive, and the outdoor pool is a nice perk, but rooms are bland and common spaces are equally drab. Visitors may consider comparing prices with the nearby Courtyard Marriott.
Scene
This airport hotel attracts budget travelers.
The 147-room Quinta Inn is a barebones property that attracts budget travelers with its inexpensive rates and extensive list of freebies. A nice outdoor pool draws families as well as the expected business travelers. However, common spaces are minimal, and the dark lobby is in need of an update; there’s no convenience store (just a few vending machines), and furniture is dated.
Location
Right off the Airport Expressway, at the northeast corner of the Miami International Airport
This Quinta Inn sits at the northeast corner of the Miami International Airport, almost directly next to the Airport Expressway. It is surrounded by other airport hotels and car rental lots, and you’ll need a car to get almost everywhere, including to area restaurants.Miami’s main attractions are within relatively easy reach: South Beach, the Port of Miami, the Miami Seaquarium, the Adrienne Arsht Center of the Performing Arts, and the Museum of Contemporary Art are all about 10 - 20 minutes away by car, depending on traffic.
Rooms
Rooms are spacious and bland.
Even standard rooms at this Quinta Inn are extremely spacious, and while decor is bland (picture mostly bare walls and cheap wooden accents), rooms feel clean and comfortable. All rooms come equipped with large flat-screen TVs, coffeemakers, free Wi-Fi, and closets stocked with irons and ironing boards. For use of a mini-fridge and microwave, guests must upgrade to a King Room, Executive King Room, or an Executive King Suite. Rooms do not have safes. And soundproofing is poor, as many guests complain of airport noise. Some find the configuration of the bathrooms to be odd. While the showers and toilets are housed in rooms that can be closed off by doors, vanities double as wet bars (this is where the coffeemakers sit) and are in open spaces that lack privacy.
Features
Freebies are the highlight.
Features are minimal. The outdoor pool, while tiny, is lovely and sunny, and there is an on-site fitness center, though it is also quite small (read: cramped). It includes just three cardio machines. The hotel also has guest laundry facilities, but there is neither a business center nor a full restaurant. All guests receive a free breakfast that consists of fresh fruit, waffles, pastries, hot and cold cereal, and coffee and juice.Other freebies -- such as Wi-Fi, parking, and a shuttle service to the airport -- add to the value of the hotel.
