The Hotel Croydon offers a competitively priced, upscale Miami Beach vacation in a location removed from the bustling nightlife in South Beach, but a block from the beach and boardwalk. The white stucco seven-floor building with Art Deco exteriors was built in 1937, and the current hotel opened in June 2014, under the SBG Hotels brand. Today the hotel is stylish with decor that includes leather tufted sofas and chairs, wood wall panels, a faux fireplace, and gold starburst lamps in the lobby. Fun fish decorations over the front desk provide a bit of Miami Beach flavor. There’s also a coffee bar with hot beverages and juice in the lobby. Overall the atmosphere is refined and laid-back.

The hotel is located on Collins Avenue between 38th and 39th streets in Mid-Beach. The location is a block away from the boardwalk and beach. The Miami Beach Ocean Watersports is in walking distance. A liquor store, Dollar Rent A Car, and a few restaurants and cafes are in the immediate area. It’s a 15-minute drive to the South Beach nightlife. The Miami Beach Convention Center is 10 minutes by car. It’s a 30-minute drive to the American Airlines Arena. The Miami International Airport is a 40-minute drive via the free hotel shuttle. It’s a 35 minute-drive to the Miami Port.

The Hotel Croydon offers Queen, King, Double, Top Floor, and Royal Connection rooms that are elegantly furnished with white tufted headboards, distressed wood and leather furniture, pops of gold, large windows, and dark wood floors. Writing desks, air-conditioning, minibars, bathrobes, safes, free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, and iPod docks are in all rooms. Some rooms have floor-to-ceiling wooden framed windows. Stylish bathrooms have mahogany porcelain tile floors, hairdryers, high-end toiletries, and walk-in showers. Top Floor Only Please rooms are on the seventh floor with city and partial sea views. Royal Connection corner rooms have pool views. Room service is offered.

Panoramic views of the city and sea can be seen from the rooftop terrace and sundeck with striped umbrellas, a canopy tent, patio furniture, and chic lounge chairs. The outdoor pool is surrounded by palms and tropical foliage, with striped umbrellas, stylish lounge chairs, and a wheelchair lift on the deck. A fitness center provides modern cardio equipment, free weights, and sea views. Fitness classes, including yoga, are available on the rooftop. The spa offers a massage treatment room.

The Tavern restaurant creates a hip environment with busy black and white floor tiles, black tufted booth seating, cartoon chalk drawings, and metallic tiles that cover the pillars. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served in the restaurant, which also has a happy hour with free drinks. The restaurant’s terrace features the same black and white design scheme. In the lobby there is a boutique, the Wanderlista Miami Concept Store, that sells clothing, jewelry, and gifts. There's also a 500-square-foot penthouse meeting room and banquet space, fitting between 14 to 56 people. Coffee and tea service, Wi-Fi, audiovisual equipment, podiums, whiteboards, and flip charts can be requested.
