Located inside a steel and glass tower in Downtown Miami's business district, the Four Seasons is a sleek and well-oiled machine designed to meet the demands of sophisticated business travelers. The vaulted lobby is a calm expanse of bamboo, marble, and posh neutral fabrics, punctuated by sculptures by the renowned artist Fernando Botero. A recently revamped steakhouse features a lively, often crowded bar and outdoor terrace seating.

The Four Seasons is in Brickell, Miami's business and financial core (and up-and-coming urban residential area) about eight miles from Miami International Airport. Activity in the area declines considerably after happy hour, although there are several good restaurants within walking distance, including the Argentinian restaurant Novecento across the street. Merry Brickell Village, a shopping and entertainment district, is within a 10-minute walk, and there's a free MetroMover station that makes frequent downtown stops located a few steps from the hotel. You'll need to take a taxi if you want to see the ocean or party in South Beach, as both destinations are about six miles away on the other side of the bay.

Rooms are large, tastefully updated but unspectacular, with neutral patterned carpets, attractive wood credenzas, and an inviting padded window seat that takes advantage of water views available in some upper-level rooms. Ample amenities include large flat-screen TVs, minibars, and twice-daily turndown service. Bathrooms are luxurious and spacious, with terry robes, designer toiletries, separate marble soaking tubs, and enclosed water closets.

The Four Seasons Miami has a two-acre main pool, a children's pool, and a large shallow pool for toe-dipping and lounging. The hotel also houses a branch of an exclusive health club that's a favorite of local fitness buffs thanks to its large selection of the latest workout equipment, weekly classes, and available spa treatments. There is a sophisticated steakhouse along with a cafe overlooking the pool serving cocktails and Latin-inspired fare. The hotel is also known for its ample and delicious (though pricey) Sunday brunch. Expect extra fees for pets and in-room Wi-FI.
