Beach Park Hotel

Built in 1929 by a Spanish architect, the Beach Park Hotel is historic, though its dated exterior lacks the charming Art Deco design look of nearby hotels. Inside, the Spanish influence can still be felt and decor emits an overall classic European feel. The spacious lobby greets guests with original maroon and cream floors, Spanish music overhead, and a mix of classic carved wood and contemporary furniture. The gold-painted rails and olive-colored velvet curtains add to the vintage vibe, while the potted palms, fresh lilies, and stacked vintage suitcases are charming decor touches. The lacquered reception desk is covered in gold dominos, paying tribute to a traditional Miami pastime. This hotel's rates and location make it popular with young partiers, so it's not the best pick for those wanting a quiet vacation. 

Beach Park Hotel is located in South Beach's Art Deco Historic District, just one block from the beach and just a few minutes' walk to the madness of South Beach's party scene. Resting right on the action of Ocean Drive, guests can expect a lively atmosphere and street noise. The hotel is located across the street from Lummus Park, giving visitors a quick and scenic route to the paved boardwalk on the other side of the park. The Art Deco Historic District is just a five-minute walk up Ocean Ave, and Espanola Way, the popular European-style street, is a 20-minute walk. Several options for shopping, restaurants, bars, and convenience stores are all within walking distance. The Wynwood arts district and Downtown Miami are both around 20 minutes away by car, while Miami Airport is about a 25-minute drive. 

The 54 rooms at Beach Park Hotel have a modern Art Deco design featuring gold metal and glass furniture, geometric accents, and vintage-style touches such as mirrored drink carts or old Cuban suitcases. Mini-fridges, AC, and small flat-screen TVs come standard, as do convenient ironing facilities and mini-hairdryers. Bathrooms have shower/tub combos and generic bath products. Guests can expect clean rooms with natural light and throw pillows with fun pineapple prints. Queen City Views have up close and personal views of nearby buildings, and are just large enough to be comfortable for a couple. Two Queen City Views come with two queen beds, though note that in some rooms these beds are facing each other on opposite walls. Junior Suites add cream marble floors in the bathrooms, couches in sitting areas (pullout sofas available on request), and more space. These rooms have two queen beds and views out the front of the hotel to Lummus Park. 

Beach Park Hotel doesn’t have much to offer as far as on-site features goes, lacking a pool, spa, and gym. However, guests are still charged a resort fee that covers free in-room water, free Wi-Fi, and safes. Guests can also grab free beach towels and folding beach chairs from reception. There’s no partner beach club, but guests have access to the public beach across the park. There is a restaurant connected to the hotel, though it is not a part of the hotel and guests cannot charge meals to their rooms. One of the more unique features of Beach Park is that it still uses its original elevator. Parking is valet-only for an overnight fee.
