Lobby could use some updating
The upper-middle-range Crowne Plaza Hotel de Mexico is well-located and especially well-equipped for business travelers. It's across from the World Trade Center, which includes a convention center, restaurants, and shopping, and the hotel offers easy access to many businesses in the city. Both the public spaces and guest rooms are functional and provide the requisites, but they could use some updating. The on-site restaurants, fitness center, and spa are nice amenities for busy travelers. For a hipper hotel with more up-to-date decor, travelers could try Room Mate Valentina.
Scene
Large lobby with multiple seating areas for gatherings and small meetings
The exterior of the Crowne Plaza Hotel de Mexico is sleek and modern, with a striking curved awning over the entrance. Guests enter a spacious two-story lobby with marble floors. A large stairway curves up to the mezzanine. There are seating areas all around, suitable for small meetings and gatherings, and many business guests make use of the space. A library-like area has a fireplace, upholstered chairs and sofas, and books. While the lobby is functional, it could use some updating. The atmosphere is international, with business travelers from other parts of Mexico, the U.S., Canada, and Europe.

Rooms
Old-fashioned guest rooms with Crowned Plaza's Sleep Advantage System
Decorated in earth tones with gold textiles and traditional dark-wood furniture, rooms look a bit old-fashioned, although, oddly, the artwork is modern. All rooms feature Crowne Plaza's Sleep Advantage System, with luxurious bedding atop four-poster beds and aromatherapy kits, and offer views of the city. Other amenities include flat-screen TVs and free bottled water. Spacious marble bathrooms have jetted tubs and separate showers, and come with basic toiletries and magnifying mirrors.
Features
Two on-site restaurants, a lobby bar, a staffed business center, 13 meeting rooms, fitness center, and spa services

The hotel is well-equipped for business travelers, with a business center open 24 hours a day with multiple computer stations, and a printer; support staff is available during the day to offer technical assistance, translation, Wi-Fi, copying, printing, and scanning. Thirteen meeting rooms can accommodate up to 900 people, and meeting rooms include audiovisual equipment; on-staff planners are available to help with the details. The small fitness center has a stair-stepper, a treadmill, elliptical machines, free weights, and stationary bikes. A large window lets natural light into the space and looks out onto the street.
