Mod Hotel Mendoza

The Mod Hotel Mendoza opened its doors in 2009, offering contemporary lodgings in a quiet location just eat of the busiest part of the city. It's a contemporary property with a strong focus on modern art and design. The chic lounge includes its own art gallery, and the sleek, low-lit lobby features polished marble floors, cozy modern seating areas, and oversized artwork hanging on the walls. Outdoors, the pool area is a great spot to cool off in the summer, stylishly lined with sun loungers and white parasols. The atmosphere is sophisticated, but not too stuffy, attracting tourists (mostly couples) as well as the occasional business traveler. Many guests are from the U.S., Europe, Chile, Brazil, and Argentina, and the hotel generally caters to a younger crowd, so the weekends can be a bit busy with loud music.

This sophisticated property has a quiet location on a tree-lined street to the east of Mendoza's commercial heart. It's around a 10-minute walk from the shops and restaurants of central Avenida San Martin, and a 15-minute walk to the city's main square, Plaza Independencia. The Museo Municipal Arte Moderno and the performing arts venue Teatro Independencia are about a 20-minute walk away. General San Martin Park and the Malvinas Argentinas Stadium are roughly a 15-minute drive from the hotel. Governor Francisco Gabrielli International Airport is a 15- to 20-minute drive from the hotel, depending on traffic, or about an hour by public transportation.

The hotel has a total of 84 rooms and suites, all of which are decorated in a contemporary style with minimalist dark wood furniture. All have fresh, white decor with neutral-tone carpeted floors, stylish fabrics, modern seatings areas, and original artwork from local artists hanging on the walls. Each has a small efficiency kitchenette with a sink, microwave, and minibar. Larger family rooms are available -- sleeping up to four adults -- and some upgraded rooms add extra living spaces and furnished balconies. Standard in-room amenities include air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs, safes, phones, and free Wi-Fi. Modern, marble bathrooms are pristine and all include shower/tub combos, bidets, hairdryers, and hotel-branded toiletries. 

Mod Hotel Mendoza offers a generous range of modern facilities. Given its focus on wine and art, it's not surprising that the hotel has its own lounge with a bright art gallery and sleek wine bar in the center of the hotel. The art gallery is a multipurpose space in which exhibitions, wine tastings, film screenings, and other events are held. There's also a stylish restaurant serving a range of international cuisines, plus a free continental breakfast buffet with fresh pastries, jams, breads, tea, and coffee.Leisure facilities are plentiful, and include a well-finished outdoor pool with a hot tub and furnished sundeck for tanning -- though this is closed in the winter months. The tranquil full-service spa offers a variety of massages and body treatments, plus a hot tub and sauna. The fitness center is small, but sufficient enough for a work out, equipped with modern cardio machines, resistance weights, and free weights. Other facilities include a stylish business center, three modern meeting rooms, and a free computer station. Hotel services include a 24-hour front desk, concierge, room service (limited hours), and free Wi-Fi. On-site parking is available, but this costs extra.
