Sleep Inn at Court Square has a quintessential chain hotel feel that looks a bit tired and out-of-date. The high-ceilinged lobby has an open feel to it and a slightly chic vibe. The potential is there, but is sadly overtaken by faded sofas and curtains, scratched wooden floors, worn wooden furniture, and old-fashioned wallpaper and carpets. The breakfast area has large windows looking out onto the street, but also features worn wooden floors and basic furniture. There are a few tables and chairs set up outside the hotel, ideal for resting while watching the comings and goings on the street. The hotel is geared towards a range of travelers, including couples, families, groups, and business travelers -- usually on a budget.

Sleep Inn at Court Square is centrally located in downtown Memphis, so it's ideally located to explore the city on foot. There are several restaurants, bars, and shops within close walking distance. The iconic Court Square Center is just a three-minute walk and Mississippi River Park is reachable in five minutes on foot. Live music venues like B.B. King’s Blues Club and the Orpheum Theatre are within a 15-minute walk, along with the Gibson Guitar Factory and the Memphis Rock 'n' Soul Museum. It's about a 20-minute walk or four-minute drive to the famous Beale Street. Graceland, home of the legendary Elvis Presley, is a 12-minute drive from the hotel. There's a trolley stop right outside the hotel. It's a 13-minute drive to Memphis International Airport.

The 124 guest rooms at Sleep Inn at Court Square feature standard chain hotel interiors. The textured wallpaper, striped-patterned carpets, and dark-wood furniture looks more dated than fresh, and some furniture is a bit worse for wear. Most rooms are fairly large, with either a king-size bed, queen-size bed, or two double beds and large windows. All rooms include air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs, safes, desks, microwaves, mini-fridges, tea- and coffee-making facilities, telephones, irons and ironing boards, and free Wi-Fi. Bathrooms include granite vanities with walk-in showers, hairdryers, and basic Bath Fundamentals toiletries. Guests staying in rooms on the lower floors have complained of noise from the outside street.

Sleep Inn at Court Square's main feature is its central location in downtown Memphis, and there are few additional features. A small fitness center is available, though the room is small and crammed with dated LifeFitness cardio equipment.
