Lopesan Costa Meloneras Resort, Spa & Casino
Calle Mar Mediterraneo 1

The 1,077-room Lopesan Costa Meloneras is a sprawling resort on the southern edge of Gran Canaria Island surrounded by restaurants, bars, and other hotels. The hotel is palatial, both in size and design, with large, marble-floored guest rooms that include soaking tubs and separate showers. All rooms come with balconies, but views vary and some of the decor looks cheap. An infinity-edge swimming pool, 13 bars and restaurants, and Himalayan salt cave are luxe additions. The hotel and its massive spa offer an extraordinary amount of services, but extra charges add up quickly, making this upper-mid-range property a pricey option.

Lopesan Villa del Conde Resort & Thalasso
Mar Mediterraneo 7

The 561-room Villa del Conde is easily the most luxurious hotel in Meloneras. It is known for its striking architecture style that copies the layout of a traditional Canarian village, with streets, several buildings, squares, fountains, and even a church. Rooms are elegant and classic, with upscale bathrooms and furnished balconies. The highlight here is the hotel’s top-notch spa, complete with indoor and outdoor spaces, treatments, and hydrotherapy areas. But the resort also offers five pools, a wide array of dining and drinking options, a well-equipped fitness center, entertainment for adults and children, and meeting rooms. Sister property Lopesan Baobab Resort has a more exotic style, but draws more families and can be louder.

Lopesan Baobab Resort
C/ Mar Adriatico, 1

The 677-room Lopesan Baobab Resort is a sprawling luxury property in southern Gran Canaria, in the exclusive Meloneras holiday area. It stands out not only for its luxe services and facilities but also for its stunning African-inspired architecture. Rooms are elegant and stylish, with chic bathrooms featuring separate showers and soaking tubs, and furnished outdoor spaces. The seven pools, lots of kid-friendly amenities, array of daily fitness activities, and four restaurants ensure there is plenty to do on-site. Additionally, there is also a top-notch spa at the hotel’s neighboring (and less luxurious) sister property, and a long sandy beach down the street. Just be aware of the handful of extra fees, including for Wi-Fi, parking, and in-room safes.
