Guests have the option of studio, one-, or two-bedroom condos, all of which have washer/dryers, full kitchens, and balconies; some come with gorgeous ocean views (though decor is on the dated side in all). The property has direct access to the beach, as well as a pool, tennis courts, a fitness center, and a meeting room.The nearby Maui Kai also offers condo-style lodging , but the beach next to the property is known to flood during high tide.

Quiet condo tower on the beach with limited Wi-Fi
The Royal Kahana is a condo resort with 12 floors and a laid-back atmosphere common among Maui hotels. The lobby is small and quiet, with sand-colored interiors and a touch of nautical decor and there are a couple of sofas and chairs next to a floor-to-ceiling beach-facing window, as well as a "take-one-leave-one" book exchange. The grounds are equally calm, with a patch of grass out by the beach with an arch for weddings and a few windswept palm trees. There's not much for families here aside from the pool (although families appreciate the condo-style rooms), and most guests are vacationing adults. There is a small business center in the lobby as well as a meeting room .

The Royal Kahana is located on a quiet road that gets little traffic, right on the beach. There are a few bars, restaurants, and shops within walking distance as well as a gas station and a McDonald's. The town of Lahaina is a 13-minute drive away and Kapalua Airport is four minutes away by car. Kahului Airport takes 50 minutes to reach by car.

The 413 studio, one-, and two-bedroom condos at the Royal Kahana feature a combination of simple beige and brown wood interiors with loud, quintessentially Hawaiian patterned bedspreads and bamboo furnishings. Each room has a private balcony, many of which have gorgeous ocean views. While all of the condos have TVs, only some have flat-screen TVs. All units come with washer/dryers and fully equipped kitchens, some with dishwashers. Bathrooms are snug but have plenty of counter space and walk-in showers with glass walls.
