Green Nature Resort & Spa

Built in the mid-1990s, the Green Nature Resort lacks the stylistic flair of some newer large resorts in Marmaris, with fairly drab and nondescript public areas despite a 2011 renovation. The hotel caters to families and groups, and a variety of languages can be heard throughout its halls and facilities, with guests coming primarily from Turkey, England, Germany, the Netherlands, and Russia. The property is spread out enough so that you can find both lively areas and quiet ones. The main tour operators that work with the hotel include Jet2holidays, Thomas Cook, Hotels4u, and Tui.

Green Nature Resort isn’t in the most convenient location, set back from the water where the town slopes up to the verdant hills above Marmaris. It’s only about a 10-minute walk to the shoreline, where there are other large hotels, but you don’t pass much of interest or use on the way there. The packed restaurants and bars you’ll find closer to the public beach are roughly five minutes away by car. It’s a 10- to 15-minute drive to Marmaris’s old town, castle, harbor, and bus station. The beaches of neighboring resort İçmeler are a 10-minute drive in the opposite direction. Dalaman, the closest airport, is 90 minutes away by car.

The Green Nature Resort’s 630 rooms are split into two classifications: “Resort,” for rooms in the main building, and “Club,” for those in two separate buildings on the far side of the pools. Other than location and some small differences in decor, their size and amenities are the same, with Standard Rooms and Family Rooms available in each section.Units are done in warm earth tones, with wood furniture and tan patterned carpets. Burgundy is used to accent Resort Rooms, and Club Rooms have forest-green accents. All have good-sized balconies, about half of them facing the pool, and the other half facing the green hills in back of the hotel, or the surrounding neighborhood. They also all have flat-screen TVs, mini-fridges, safes (extra charge), and air-conditioning, but they lack kettles, and there's no in-room Wi-Fi. Bathrooms are medium-sized, with marble counters and shower/tub combos in Resort section units, and stall showers with glass partitions that don't reach the floor in the Club section rooms. There are hairdryers and soap dispensers, but no toiletries, and bath towel racks are inconveniently located inside showers.Family Rooms contain two separate spaces, one equipped with a double bed and the other with a sofa bed or up to three single beds. Each room has its own flat-screen TV and mini-fridge. Almost all Family Rooms have one bathroom; five of them have two bathrooms (the second one with a small shower only). Just over two dozen Resort Suites are available, which are larger than Family Rooms but have a similar layout.

With good-sized pools and a gym and plenty of outdoor sporting facilities, the Green Nature Resort has a lot of options for active pursuits, but fewer for eating and drinking.There are two large pools surrounded by sunbeds, a waterslide pool with four slides, and a small kids’ pool between the Resort and Club complexes. Entertainment and activities are provided by the resort's animation team, with offerings such as water polo, aerobics, and darts, and there are small interactive shows poolside during the daytime. There are also outdoor courts for tennis, basketball, volleyball, and mini-football, though there’s no tree cover to shield them from the summer sun. A small amphitheater next to the pools is where the roster of evening entertainment takes place, mostly family-friendly shows such as circus nights, dance parties, karaoke, Turkish nights, and performances based on the musical Grease. Kids are catered to at a colorful kids’ club with an indoor ball pit and a fairly large (if unshaded) playground. The kids’ club is only open during the day; babysitting is available at night for an extra charge. The ground-floor Green Spa, decorated with a hodgepodge of bamboo, stones, fish tanks, and Asian figurines, features four Turkish baths (one large and three small private ones), a dry sauna, steam room, whirlpool, vitamin bar (extra charge), and six massage rooms (extra charge). The good-sized gym has a variety of cardio and weight machines and gets some natural light, as does the indoor pool area.All-inclusive meals are served in the ground-floor Green Restaurant, which has a cafeteria feel, kitschy animal sculptures on the food stations, and an uninspired buffet of hot and cold dishes at each meal, with scant cooked-to-order options. The main seating area is outside under a retractable roof, though there are some indoor tables as well. There's also a snack restaurant by the Club buildings that dishes out a mid-afternoon buffet of burgers, pizza, and the like. A quiet garden bar, two lobby bars, and a lively amphitheater bar serve up the same low-quality alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. A terrace bar/restaurant overlooking the pool area offers alternative fare -- including a Western breakfast, nachos, and steaks, as well as premium drinks -- throughout the day for an extra charge.A daily free shuttle (more frequent in peak season) takes guests to a beach in the neighboring resort of İçmeler, and popular diving tours can be arranged for an extra charge. There's a doctor available on-site, and other amenities to round out the Green Nature Resort’s features include a minimart, photo studio, tattoo parlor, hairdresser, handbag shop, and a souvenir shop. Wi-Fi is free in the hotel's public areas.
