La Moraleja is a four-pearl boutique hotel with an adult-only policy that offers lovely gardens, an elegant antique style, and choice views of Sierra de Tramuntana Mountains. It’s only a 10-minute walk to the beaches, making it close enough to enjoy the ocean, but far enough to enjoy some peace and quiet. Guests can take advantage of two pools, a spa, and two restaurants. The cooked-to-order breakfast is included in room rates. Apart from the updated Superior Double Rooms, the 22 rooms are generally homey in design and a bit dated. They do have fantastic amenities like minibars, kettles, and air-conditioning. Hotel Cala Sant Vincenc is a good alternative boutique hotel with modern rooms and amenities like free wine and bathrobes.
Scene
Elegant boutique hotel with a Mediterranean flair, romantic vibe, and adult-only policy
La Moraleja is an elegant boutique hotel that looks like a mansion overflowing with green grounds and classic statues in the shadow of the Sierra de Tramuntana Mountains. The cream stone, columns, and Romanesque statues give this place a Mediterranean flair and romantic ambience. Inside, there’s a museum feel thanks to an assortment of antique furniture and gold-framed oil portraits on the walls, while the eclectic, modern art keeps things fresh. The restaurant is particularly elegant with glossy stone floors, cream chairs, white tablecloth tables, and plenty of natural light. Though it’s definitely an upscale, romantic vibe, some parts of the hotel feel a bit ancient and could use a refresh. As an adult-only property, the clientele is primarily focused on couples on a beach holiday.
Location
10-minute walk to the beach and close to restaurants
La Moraleja is centrally located in Cala San Vincente, within 10-minute walks from Cala Molins Beach or Cala Barques Beach. Travelers come here for a beach vacation, so both beaches are generally crowded due to their small size and because there’s not much else to do in terms of sightseeing. Restaurants can easily be reached on foot within eight minutes. Travelers might want to consider a car for day trips along the coast or take the hour- and 20-minute drive to Palma for shopping, sightseeing, or to hop on a plane at Palma Mallorca Airport.
Rooms
Homey rooms with antique furniture, terraces, flat-screen TVs, minibars, and kettles
There are only 22 rooms and suites at La Moraleja Hotel and all have gorgeous terraces with Sierra de Tramuntana Mountain views. The interior decor is a blend between homey and classically elegant, and in some ways, is just a bit tired with antique or mismatching furniture. Double rooms have a more modern Mediterranean style with white bedding, cream carpeting, and chic armchairs. However, the rest of the rooms feature tiled floors, earthy colors, and wooden furniture that somewhat clashes with modern art pieces on the walls. Rooms with single beds pushed together don’t really provide the romantic ambience that most guests are looking for. All rooms feature small flat-screen TVs, air-conditioning, minibars, safes, free Wi-Fi, and kettles. Penthouse Suites are equipped with free minibars. Bathrooms are spacious, but dated too, with plenty of sink space, shower/tub combos with plastic curtains, toiletries, bidets, and old-fashioned hose hairdryers.
Features
Pools, spa, hot breakfast, restaurants, and free Wi-Fi and parking
For a small boutique hotel, La Moraleja has quite a few features, including two pools -- one that's heated in the winter, and another that's surrounded by a lovely patio filled with loungers, plants, and statues. Though there’s no gym on-site, the property has a spa with a hot tub and sauna. It offers massages and beauty treatments too. As for dining options, a hot cooked-to-order breakfast is available each morning and is included in the room rate. The Bistro Restaurant & Bar is an elegant affair with patio dining, Spanish cuisine, and pool service. Cristal Restaurant is only open twice a week for a gourmet experience with a five-course meal. Other perks include free Wi-Fi, free parking, bike or car rental, and airport shuttles for a fee.
