Scene
Like a luxurious private villa
The atmosphere at Finca Ca's Sant is one of comfortable luxury; it feels more like a luxurious home than a hotel. Owned by the same family since the 13th century, the property is composed of a stone building with turquoise shutters that looks straight from a movie. The grounds are filled with beautiful gardens scented by magnolia, lemon, and orange trees, and the Tramuntana mountains are visible in the distance. This is a working orange farm, and animals, including chickens and horses, are found on the property. A shaded stone courtyard offers tables and chairs. There are two pools as well, each lined with sunbeds so that guests can completely unwind. Interiors are classic and refined, featuring terra-cotta floors, antique furniture, and plush red seating. Paintings by local artists complement exposed stone walls. The romantic setting here is best for couples, although some families with children also visit. Only some rooms allow children, however.
Location
Quiet and rural location, still a short walk from Sóller
Finca Ca's Sant is located on the outskirts of Soller, about five to 10 minutes' walk from the center of the traditional Majorcan town. The property has a rural feel and is set back from a somewhat busy road, so there are no traffic noise issues. Quaint local restaurants and casual cocktail bars are found in the town, as well as in the Port of Sóller area near the water. There are lots of outdoor activities available in the surrounding area, including trekking, snorkeling, paddle surfing, cycling, and golf. The popular town of Formentor is about an hour and 45 minutes away. Palma and Palma de Mallorca Airport are about 50 minutes away by car.
Rooms
Beautifully refined and tasteful; most have terraces
Rooms keep with the rustic-yet-refined local style found in common areas. Decor includes antique furniture in neutral tones, exposed-wood ceilings, and crystal chandeliers. Some rooms have elegant cushioned benches while others offer desks. Superior Rooms are more spacious and feature exposed stone walls. Most rooms have private terraces with garden and mountain views, and all rooms offer direct access from the gardens. Standard amenities include air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs, and free Wi-Fi. Coffee- and tea-making facilities and minibars with Champagne and juices are also provided. Sophisticated bathrooms are also neutral-colored and have walk-in showers and single vanities. Hairdryers, toiletries, and robes are provided.
Features
Free breakfast with homemade items and two pools -- but no restaurant or spa
Features here are elegantly simple. Free Breakfast is offered daily and includes homemade orange marmalade and orange juice, as well as small caprese sandwiches, yogurt with berries, and other fresh local items. The property's marmalade (made from orange trees grown on-site) is sold in many shops in Europe and gets rave reviews from guests. Fresh fruit drinks are available poolside and there is afternoon tea service with homemade cakes. However, the property lacks a full restaurant, so guests must go into town for lunch and dinner. Some guests have found the generous breakfast spread filling enough to last until dinner time. There are two outdoor pools, one half-covered by a magnolia tree and the other surrounded by orange trees and with views to the mountains. There is no gym or spa. This is a pet-friendly property. Wi-Fi is free and fast throughout.
