The 169-room Osuna Hotel has a unique layout for a Madrid hotel. The property is motel-style with exterior hallways and a nice outdoor pool and patio area. Rooms are available in two categories -- a standard room or a bungalow -- with the bungalow offering significantly more space. However, decor across the board is fairly dated with old tube TVs and printed bedspreads, and beds are on the hard side. Bathrooms look slightly more updated, with marble shower/tub combos. The location, near the IFEMA convention center, is far from the main tourist sights, but near the airport. The hotel offers a free shuttle service from the airport as well as free breakfast, but there is a pesky fee for Wi-Fi. Additional perks include a bar and restaurant overlooking the pool.

In secluded, calm, and somewhat boring Alameda de Osuna area
While it's close to the airport and a convention center, the Hotel Osuna is located in one of the least interesting areas in Madrid. It's not close to Madrid's main sights, nor is it a popular place for nightlife or restaurants. This neighborhood contains only sleepy residential streets and a golf course. There is metro access, however, and the area is home to El Capricho, a popular park.- 8-minute drive from Madrid-Barajas Airport
