This small, urban boutique is housed in a beautiful historic building with neoclassical influences. Although interiors are stylish and contemporary, some of the original elements remain, especially in the lobby, where dark green and off-white marble finishes, huge wrought-iron windows, and ornate ceiling moldings blend easily with a sleek wooden front desk and shiny metal lamps. The historic details are less evident in other spaces, including in the lobby lounge, which features chic, bright decor in bold colors. Here, golden accents, pops of turquoise, and yellow details stand out against the gray laminate floors, aged silver-colored couches, and glossy black bar, creating a sleek, smart space. This stylish mix of bold colors continues in the breakfast room, housed in a cozy courtyard topped with a large skylight.

The hotel is located on the corner of two busy streets on the border between residential Chamberi neighborhood and Alonso Martinez, an area known for its many restaurants, bars, and boutiques. The Alonso Martinez metro stop is right across the street, and several buses have stops within a couple of blocks of the hotel. This location is convenient for travelers looking to explore the city on foot, as there are several major attractions an easy walk away, including the National Library, the Archaeological Museum, Puerta de Alcala, Retiro Park, and the Prado Museum. Puerta del Sol and the historic center are a 20-minute walk away, and the Royal Palace and Plaza Mayor can be reached by metro in just over 15 minutes. Hopping nightlife areas such as Malasaña and Chueca are an easy 10-minute walk away, and high-end shopping along Serrano is less than 15 minutes on foot from the hotel. The Innside Madrid Genova is a half-hour drive or 40-minute metro ride from the airport. The hotel provides airport transfer services for a fee.

As in the rest of the hotel, historic elements have been preserved in rooms, namely the ornate crown moldings and the wooden windows with folding shutters. These classic details stand out against the streamlined decor with clean lines and soft neutral colors, giving rooms an effortless upscale feel. Most rooms have large windows overlooking the street, but Innside Rooms have views of the courtyard and can be a little dark.Standard amenities include LCD TVs, free Wi-Fi, iPod docks, and minibars with free sodas, water and juice. Most units have either king-size beds or two twins pushed together, and all have individually controlled air-conditioning. Bathrooms are sleek, sexy, and clean, with black walls, large walk-in rain showers, square sinks over wooden counters, and hotel-brand toiletries. A few rooms have small balconies, and the Tower Suite is a duplex unit with a small living area housed in the hotel’s beautiful dome.

Drinks and a short tapas menu are available at the stylish lobby lounge, which has several seating areas overlooking both the street and the breakfast room. There are two meeting rooms with audiovisual equipment and free Wi-Fi, and two outdoor terraces with lounge furniture and city views can be rented out for corporate events as well. The hotel’s tiny fitness center features three cardio machines and an abs bench. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the property.
