This 182-room, all-suite hotel caters to business travelers and families who don't want to stay in the city center. The Mirasierra is convenient to Madrid's business district and convention center, and has several large, flexible meeting rooms that can host large groups or special events. Though the neighborhood lacks dining options, the sunny lobby atrium, poolside cafes, lobby bar and Japanese/Spanish fine dining restaurant offer great alternatives.
Scene
A business hotel with leisurely extras
While the Eurostars Suites Mirasierra does cater primarily to seasoned business travelers (see the assortment of spacious meeting and event rooms), the common spaces offer a wide variety of leisure options, from a restaurant that specializes in sushi and gin and tonics to a spa with a man-made river and "underwater hammocks". The sunny atrium that makes up the lobby with its marble floor is an atmospheric meeting point. In summer, cocktails, sandwiches and salads are available poolside, with views of the mountains in the distance, or tapas and tea can be had in the lobby bar. Outdoor dining under Japanese lanterns adds a more romantic touch to the property. All of the latter give the otherwise corporate-heavy hotel a more laid-back energy.
Location
A full-service property in the outskirts of Madrid
The Mirasierra is located in Madrid's new business district, 20 minutes by metro, (seven stops), from the city center and major tourist attractions. This hotel is situated in a residential neighborhood with no shops or restaurants in the immediate vicinity, but it does offer several in-house dining and drinking options. Car rental is available in the hotel to make it easier for guests to get around Madrid and its environs, and the metro and bus stops are a five-minute walk from the front door.
Rooms
Large, cleverly designed suites feel like apartments
Every room in the Eurostars Suites Mirasierra is a spacious, well-laid out suite with separate sitting area. In-room work stations are thoughtfully set up so that guests may actually get work done. Decor is muted and peaceful, with nice touches such as artsy vases and warm lighting. Microwaves, Lavazza espresso machines and minibars add to the convenient homey feel. Bathrooms are elegant and large, with double sinks, towel warmers, and separate showers and tubs. Ask for a room with a view of the mountains, as the alternative is dreary and nondescript. In-room Wi-Fi costs extra.
Features
Good food and drinks, full size gym, and on-site spa
The Eurostars Suites Mirasierra has large meeting rooms and public spaces for conferences, trade shows, and other private events. The lobby bar serves cocktails (specialty is the mojito) and snacks; while Verdil, a gourmet restaurant with a Japanese menu, is a good spot for a working lunch or a candlelit dinner. There is a fee to use the larger-than-average hotel gym, which offers plenty of cardio machines, free weights, personal trainers, and classes, including spinning and zumba. The spa features saunas, Turkish bath, steam rooms, whirlpools, bodywork and assorted beauty treatments. Wi-Fi and breakfast cost extra
