Pueblo Bonito Pacifica Golf & Spa Resort

Hit by Hurricane Odile in 2014, parts of Pueblo Bonito Pacifica Golf & Spa Resort have been rebuilt and renovated, but the hotel still features traditional Mexican architecture like boxy buildings, yellow stucco, and lots of open spaces. Guests are greeted by a strikingly modern lobby with a circular pool and fountain in the center. The back of the lobby allows for a stunning view of the hotel grounds and Pacific Ocean. Outside, there are a few modern twists, with overwater walkways snaking throughout the grounds, small fountains, seeded concrete walkways, and views of the adjacent Quivira Golf Club. 

The hotel is far enough from downtown Cabo for a tranquil and laid-back vacation, but close enough to take a cab ride into town for a night out. The adult-only property features a small social scene around the two pools with slow-jam music playing and poolside service. The hotel has a few bars for nighttime socializing, but it stays quiet. There are four sister resorts, and a free shuttle between them allows guests to choose if they want to participate in wilder nightly activities or have a quiet vacation at Pacifica. 

Pueblo Bonito Pacifica Golf and Spa Resort is located directly on a beautiful, two-and-a-half-mile stretch of beach. It's about 10 minutes from downtown Cabo, where guests will find fishing, water sports, whale watching, and popular restaurants and nightclubs. There is nothing within walking distance of the hotel, but a shuttle runs between Pacifica and its sister resorts: Sunset Beach, Rosé, Los Cabos, and Montecristo Estates.

Rooms here are arranged in a horseshoe around the pool terrace and courtyard. The buildings that house the rooms have a traditional Mexican architecture with a box-like shape and yellow stucco exteriors. Of the 201 rooms, 47 are located in two separate buildings called The Towers, which are newer and feature extra amenities like 24-hour butler service, an exclusive VIP lounge, Beats Pill speakers, and elegant teak furniture. The Tower Pool Suite has a private black plunge pool. 

The rest of the rooms fall into the Pacifica Room category, with a few room options including Deluxe Rooms, Deluxe Oceanfront Rooms, and Suites. Deluxe Rooms are the most simple room type, but are still lovely and elegant with pebble-accented stone floors, neutral colors, and dark-brown furniture. Modern amenities include flat-screen TVs, premium cable, strong air-conditioning, and coffeemakers. Fully stocked minibars with sodas, beer, and bottled water are part of all-inclusive packages and restocked daily. Suites have extra amenities including butler service, free use of cabanas on the beach, and large furnished balconies. 

Bathrooms are modern, spacious, and well-appointed, with either standing showers or shower/tub combos, and bowl sinks. All bathrooms come with bathrobes, toiletries, and hairdryers. 

Pueblo Bonito Pacifica Golf & Spa Resort has lovely features that mostly focus on the outdoors. The hotel is centered around a spacious pool terrace that has two pools (the Constellation pool and Infinity pool) and one hot tub. The Constellation pool is the smaller of the two pools, and it overlooks the ocean. The Infinity pool is a spacious, freeform pool with Siempre, the restaurant, jutting out into the water. Both pool decks have plenty of cushioned lounge chairs and umbrellas. Servers and bartenders from Aire Restaurant and Aquabar Aire come by throughout the day to take drink and snack orders, which are included in the all-inclusive rate. 

A beach setup is located just beyond the pools, and comes with cabanas (free with Suites and Tower Rooms) and cushioned lounge chairs. Beachside food and drink service is provided throughout the day. Note: the ocean is not swimmable due to rough currents. A shuttle runs between the four other Pueblo Bonito sister resorts, and guests can use all of their amenities for free. Rose and Blanco resorts offer prime beachfront location on Playa el Medano (the most swimmable beach in Cabo). 

Guests get exclusive access to the adjacent Quivira Golf Club, anchored by a Jack Nicklaus Signature Design course. The world-renowned course features stunning cliffs and panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean from every hole. There are four comfort areas where golfers can take a break from the heat. The Oasis restaurant by the eighth hole offers ceviche and tequila, and there's a clubhouse with a full bar and steak restaurant. Green fees and the restaurants cost extra. 

There are a few wellness options at the Pacifica as well. A spacious, sleek fitness center overlooks the ocean for stunning views while working out. The fitness center is outfitted with modern TechnoGym equipment, free weights, and flat-screen TVs. Armonia Spa is a tranquil spot and offers a relaxing experience via massages, wraps, scrubs, and a beauty salon. However, the spa is small and looks dated -- it's a bit underwhelming for this price point. None of the spa services, including in-room massages, are included in the all-inclusive package. 

Valet parking and Wi-Fi throughout the hotel are also free.

There are five restaurants and several bars available here, and all are included in the all-inclusive plan. Top-shelf liquors and some menu items, like lobster, do cost extra, however. 

For breakfast and brunch, guests can choose between Siempre or Peninsula Restaurant, which are both lovely choices featuring pool or ocean views, respectively. Peninsula offers a la carte traditional Baja cuisine in an upscale setting with indoor and outdoor seating. Siempre offers both a la carte and buffet options.

Lunch options are a bit more limited. Only Peninsula, Bocados Deli, and the poolside snack bar, Aire Restaurant, are open for lunch. Bocados Deli and Aire serve a casual lunch of snacks and sandwiches. 

Pescados and Siempre are open for dinner. Peninsula is particularly lovely for dinner thanks to spectacular sunsets overlooking the ocean, and an Asian fusion menu with an emphasis on sushi and sashimi. Room service is available 24/7 and is included in the rates. There are a few places to grab a drink at the hotel, including the Peninsula Lounge and Bar, Refresca, and Fire and Ice Oceanfront Bar. For sports enthusiasts, Partidos Sports Bar is a great option. 

Note: Guests can also dine at sister resortrestaurants and bars, but not all of their restaurants are part of the all-inclusive package, so some require an additional fee. Reservations and dress codes tend to apply to most dinner restaurants throughout the hotel and at some sister properties.
