Bottom Line

Situated on the white sands of Playa el Medano (the most swimmable beach in Cabo), the family-friendly Pueblo Bonito Los Cabos has an enviable location that's also within easy walking distance of downtown Cabo San Lucas. The three-pearl hotel offers both all-inclusive and room-only options, though the all-inclusive is the most popular and includes two on-site restaurants and bars, poolside service, and Wi-Fi. All 147 suites are decorated with traditional Mexican style and feature standard amenities like flat-screen TVs and air-conditioning. Scene

Family-friendly hotel with a lively social scene and manicured grounds

Pueblo Bonito Los Cabos features white stucco buildings arranged in a horseshoe around the massive freeform pool, which is the main hub of activity and entertainment. Bustling with guests, servers, and entertainment staff -- the pool stays busy throughout the day. Music plays from morning to evening by the pool creating a convivial atmosphere. The roped-off beach area is technically private and only for guests, but venders do walk along Playa el Medano hawking their wares and services. With prime beachfront property on the most most swimmable beach in Cabo, expect to see guests from sister resorts hanging out as well, so the beach and pool area can get a bit overrun at times. Neighboring beach clubs can be noisy during spring break season, but some might enjoy the party and activity of Los Cabos during that popular time of year. The two restaurants tend to stay busy throughout the day. Cilantros has a lovely bar overlooking the beach, which is nice for a few drinks before hitting downtown Cabo San Lucas for a night out. Guests are a mix of American and Mexican travelers, but predominantly older couples and families frequent this resort. Pueblo Bonito Los Cabos is the simplest of Pueblo Bonito resort family. Those looking for more bells and whistles should consider Pueblo Bonito Rose which has a lovely spa and beauty salon. While those who prefer a quieter, more upscale resort might choose Pueblo Bonito Pacifica Golf and Spa Resort which is pricier, but adult-only and farther away from downtown Cabo.

Location

Beachfront to Playa el Medano and within easy walking distance of downtown Cabo

Pueblo Bonito Los Cabos is located directly on beautiful Medano Beach facing the famous Los Arcos of Land's End, which is only a few minutes from the resort by car. Some of the popular beach clubs like The Office are a 10-minute walk from the hotel. The sister resort, Pueblo Bonito Rose is a four-minute walk away and Pueblo Bonito Los Cabos guests can use all of the amenities there. The Marina is a 10-minute drive from the hotel. The small, artsy town of San Jose del Cabo is a 27-minute drive from the hotel along the popular tourist road, The Corridor. There are plenty of restaurants, shopping centers, ocean views, and golf courses along the way. The popular Costa Azul Beach is a 25-minute drive and it grants travelers stunning views of the Sea of Cortez. The larger, more popular airport, Los Cabos International Airport is a 35-minute drive away. The smaller Cabo San Lucas International Airport is a 20-minute drive from the hotel. The hotel’s proximity to downtown Cabo means that renting a car is not necessary as popular tourist spots and restaurants are within easy walking distance and cabs are readily available.

Features

Beach chairs, two restaurants, large freeform pool, tiny fitness center, and parking

Pueblo Bonito Los Cabos doesn’t have as many amenities as some of the surrounding mega-resorts, but two on-site restaurants, a large freeform pool, and private beach setup rounds out a nice list for families and couples. Cilantros and Las Palomas are the two restaurants. Both feature full bars, outdoor seating, and are part of the all-inclusive package. Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, Las Palomas serves Mexican fare in a casual setting overlooking the pool. Cilantros is open for lunch and dinner with a focus on international cuisine and stunning views overlooking the Sea of Cortez. Pueblo Bonito is centered around a large freeform pool. The pool has plenty of blue lounge chairs surrounding it, a few cute bridges, and a couple waterfalls for kids to splash in. The pool also features poolside food and drink service which is part of the all-inclusive package. A moderately sized, private beach setup is situated directly on the sands of Playa el Medano, the most swimmable beach in Cabo. There are blue lounge chairs for guests, as well as beach service. There is a tiny fitness center with only a few, older machines. True fitness buffs will likely prefer to use the larger and more modern fitness center at the sister resort, Pueblo Bonito Rose (a four-minute walk away.) A shuttle runs between the sister properties, and guests can use most of the facilities: pools, beach, spa, and some restaurants. There is plenty of self parking available, or valet parking is included in the all-inclusive rate. Guests should note that Wi-Fi is only included in the all-inclusive package.
