The upscale Dreams Los Cabos Suites Golf Resort & Spa is a popular all-inclusive option on The Corridor in Cabo. The resort's contemporary Spanish-style design carries over to the 308 suites, all of which have minibars, furnished balconies, and premium cable. There isn't much within walking distance of the property, but couples and families who stay here are kept plenty busy on-site. Highlights include seven restaurants, four bars with top shelf liquors, two outdoor pools with activities, plus a spa and modern fitness center. There's also a full beach setup, though like many hotels in the area, the water is usually too rough for swimming. With a kids’ club, daily DJ sets, and evening entertainment, expect an energetic (and often noisy) atmosphere. For an alternative closer to downtown Cabo, the Playa Grande Resort & Grand Spa has similar rates and features, plus rooms with kitchenettes.
Scene
Bustling family-friendly resort with Spanish-style architecture and ocean views
Set back from The Corridor and down a stone driveway, the contemporary Spanish-style resort looks impressive against the backdrop of white sand and the Sea of Cortez. The property has a fun, family-friendly atmosphere, and in the laid-back lobby guests are greeted with a fresh towel and welcome drink, and can help themselves to plates of cookies and fresh fruit. With a DJ down by the pool, multiple restaurants and bars, and nightly activities, there's almost always something to do. The main infinity pool bustles throughout the day, with couples sunbathing, kids playing, and entertainment staff leading activities. Some guests have noted that the pool stays busy and can be overcrowded at times. Those looking for a quieter, less kid-oriented resort might consider Secrets Puerto Los Cabos Golf & Spa Resort, an adult-only option on the Baja Peninsula. Younger couples and single travelers looking to splurge and party tend to head to Breathless Cabo San Lucas Resort and Spa, located down by the marina in Cabo San Lucas.
Location
On The Corridor, beachfront to the Sea of Cortez, 30 minutes from the airport
Situated on the ocean side of The Corridor, the popular tourist road, the resort grants travelers stunning views of the Sea of Cortez. Though the hotel is situated right on the beach, the ocean isn’t usually swimmable due to the rough current. The nearest swimmable beach is Playa El Medano, a 20-minute drive from the hotel. The popular beach clubs of downtown Cabo San Lucas are also a 20-minute drive, and many restaurants, shops, and bars downtown are within easy walking distance of each other. The small, quaint town of San Jose del Cabo is a 15-minute drive from the hotel. Known for a vibrant art scene, San Jose has a high concentration of galleries, as well as beautiful old churches. Both Los Cabos International Airport and Cabo San Lucas International Airport are a 30-minute drive from the hotel.
Rooms
Suites with furnished balconies, free minibars, and some ocean views
Decor found in the hotel's common spaces carries through to all 308 suites, which are similarly styled and laid out. Expect beige marble floors, dark-wood furniture, airy spaces, and pale yellow and loden green accents. Size is the main difference, with suites ranging from the standard Junior Suite to the massive Presidential Suite. Larger suites have private bedrooms, separate living spaces with dining areas, and some have kitchenettes. All have private balconies, most with ocean views, and come with flat-screen TVs with premium cable, free fully stocked minibars (beer, water, and soda), coffeemakers, and free Wi-Fi. Guests can choose to upgrade to the Preferred Club for expanded minibars (snacks and liquor) and premium room locations. Bathrooms are spacious and well-appointed with rainfall showerheads and elegant basin sinks, and contain bathrobes, slippers, hairdryers, and toiletries. Suites closest to the pool tend to be noisiest, and the walls are a bit thin between all rooms.
Features
Two spacious pools, extensive beach setup, kids' club, wellness options, and free Wi-Fi
With two outdoor pools, an Explorer's Club for kids, and a tranquil spa, features are well-rounded to suit a variety of interests. Just beyond the lobby, the main multi-level infinity pool is where most of the action takes place. With a slide extending to a lower-level pool and a small kids' section, plan to see lots of families hanging out. The pool stays pretty packed from morning till night, with the swim-up Sugar Reef Bar and a DJ spinning pop hits all day. There are plenty of lounge chairs and towels, plus a steady flow of servers taking food and drink orders -- and passing out free popsicles. The adult-only pool is located in a quiet area away from the center of the resort and has a more relaxing setting. An expansive beach setup can be found in front of the resort, with ample blue cushioned lounge chairs and straw palapas, and a sand volleyball court. The beach is generally peaceful, though there are occasionally a few locals selling wares. Unfortunately, this area of Cabo has rough currents and the ocean is unsafe for swimming. There are also some nice wellness options on-site. A modern and sleek fitness center features flat-screen TVs, infused water, and bottled water. It's spacious and has a good variety of LifeFitness cardio equipment and free weights, so there isn't usually a wait for machines. Outdoor yoga classes are available. Dreams Spa by Pevonia is a lovely option for those looking to further relax, offering facials, massages, body scrubs, and a beauty salon for manicures, haircuts, and other services. Fees apply for all spa and beauty treatments. Located by hotel's entrance is the kids' Explorer's Club, which is covered in the all-inclusive package. The roomy enclosed play area has outdoor space with a fenced-in playground. Inside, there's crafts and activities, including some that are supervised and range from science to nature lessons. Babysitting is available for an additional charge.Preferred Club guests are given spa discounts and have access to an exclusive lounge (fee) with a full bar and all-day snacks. Freebies for all guests include valet parking, Wi-Fi throughout, and use of the hotel's app, which has an activities schedule (most of which are included in the rate), plus on-site restaurant and local area information.
All-Inclusive / Food
Everything is covered, including upscale Italian, buffet dining, and swim-up bars
With seven restaurants and four bars covered in the all-inclusive package, guests don't lack for places to grab a bite or drink. World Cafe is the main restaurant, serving an international buffet for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with indoor and outdoor seating overlooking the ocean. Seaside Grill, Barefoot Grill, and Coco Cafe are all relaxed cafes and snack bars open during the day for light snacks and lunch. Oceana, Portofino, and Bordeaux offer upscale a la carte seafood, Italian, and French cuisine (respectively) in an elegant setting. All require reservations and have a dress code. There is no Mexican restaurant, something travelers might miss on a trip to Los Cabos. Top shelf liquors, frozen drinks, and cocktails at the resort's four bars are also covered in the all-inclusive package. There are two swim-up bars: Sugar Reef Bar by the main pool, and Manatees Bar by the adult-only pool. Rendezvous, the elegant lobby bar, offers both indoor and outdoor seating, and is open throughout the day. Only open at night (and not every night), Desires Music Lounge is a fun adult-only club where guests can hang out and dance, or enjoy cocktails while socializing. Minibars with soda, water, and beer, are free and stocked daily in the guest rooms.
