Sirtaj Hotel is a stylish upscale
hotel with a slight Indian aesthetic in the center of Beverly Hills, a 15-minute walk from
Rodeo Drive. The 32 pleasant guest rooms are decorated in an eclectic
and colorful contemporary style and are equipped with luxury
amenities like tablet computers, espresso machines, and minibars, while the upper-category rooms have the added
bonus of iHome docking stations. Room rates are competitive when
compared to other four-pearl properties in the area, but amenities
usually expected of an upscale hotel are absent: There is no on-site
swimming pool, spa, or gym, and breakfast is charged extra at its trendy P.S. Beverly Hills restaurant. For only
moderately higher rates, the boutique hotel SIXTY Beverly Hills
offers a rooftop swimming pool and bar overlooking the Hollywood
Hills.
Scene
Stylish and trendy vibe with colorful accents
Sirtaj Hotel
occupies a compact, box-shaped three-story building with small
windows on a residential street in the heart of Beverly Hills. The vibe here is stylish and trendy, with a few Indian-inspired accents. There's a pleasant outdoor patio in front of the hotel connected to P.S. Beverly Hills, the restaurant and bar. The reception area is decorated in a vibrant, trendy style with walls painted in a bright turquoise,
blow-ups of black-and-white architectural prints, and framed Indian
mirror-work textiles on the walls. The lime-green contemporary-style
chairs and brown velour rugs complement the modern decor. Past guests have complained of the slow and creaky elevator -- as the hotel only has three floors, it may be faster to take the stairs. Guests are welcomed on arrival with a glass of mango juice. Most
of the guests staying here are couples visiting the city as leisure
travelers, but many business travelers also choose to stay here.
Location
On a quiet, residential street in Beverly Hills
Sirtaj
Hotel is located on a quiet residential street across from a small
park in central Beverly Hills. Rodeo Drive is just a few blocks away. Many tourist attractions are easily accessible from here, and there
are plenty of bars, cafes, and restaurants nearby.- 15-minutewalk to Rodeo Drive
Rooms
Stylish and bright guest rooms with luxurious extras -- some are small
The
same stylish and colorful decor of the hotel's public spaces is
replicated in the 32 guest rooms. Bright orange accent walls and bed
runners in vivid shades of orange and hot pink add splashes of color to each space. The dark wood furniture is simple
and modern in style, and the walls that separates the bedrooms from the
bathrooms are made of orange- and yellow-tinted glass with paisley
designs -- another fun and colorful accent. Some of the guest rooms can
be a bit cramped, and the bathrooms are likewise compact, with
glass-doored walk-in showers. All the rooms have air-conditioning,
free Wi-Fi, 42-inch flat-screen TVs, refrigerated minibars, and a few
notable extras like tablets and Lavazza espresso machines. Upper-category Traditional King and Luxury King Rooms also
feature iHome docking stations. The Luxury King Room has a separate
sitting area, pull-out couch, and balcony. Be aware that some guests have
complained about poor soundproofing between the guest rooms.
Features
On-site restaurant and bar, free Wi-Fi, and pricey valet parking
For
an upscale hotel, Sirtaj Hotel has few extra features or amenities.
The stylish P.S. Beverly Hills restaurant is open throughout
the day and serves an American breakfast (for a fee), and Indian and Italian
cuisine for lunch and dinner. An attached bar offers craft
beers and specialty cocktails. Room service is also available. A
computer is available at the front desk for guest use,
and Wi-Fi is free throughout the hotel. There is no pool, spa, or gym
on the premises, but guests can request use of a nearby gym and
spa located two blocks away. Valet parking is available for a pricey
extra fee.
