Luxe City Center Hotel

Luxe City Center Hotel occupies a large multi-story building on a busy downtown LA street. The lobby gets lots of light thanks to large windows, and the interiors are done up in a minimalist style in cool tones of gray and beige. That said, the decor is stark and sterile and very similar to other business hotels, with contemporary white sofas and black high-backed armchairs arranged on a black-and-white. Andy Warhol prints decorate the public spaces, adding color to the otherwise lackluster interiors. The majority of the guests here are business travelers, but the hotel does also get guests attending concerts at the L.A. Live and Staples Center concert venues, both of which are just down the street. It also attracts dog owners, as dogs stay for free, and special canine-friendly packages are available. 

Luxe City Center Hotel is right in downtown Los Angeles, close to many popular concert venues, notably L.A. Live, Staples Center, and The Microsoft Center. There are lots of restaurants, cafes, and bars located in the area, and it's easy to get to the freeway from here. Be aware that certain blocks of the downtown area can feel gritty.

Guest rooms and suites at Luxe City Center Hotel are simply and stylishly done up in earthy tones of brown and beige. Headboards covered with variegated wood tiles provide a cool focal point. Other stylish details include suede easy chairs and lamps with yellow geodes as the base. Hardwood floors covered in gray rugs, beige wallpaper, and white bedding provide a neutral backdrop. Contemporary artwork in neon shades adds a dose of color. 

All the rooms have 42-inch flat-screen TVs with on-demand movies, Keurig Single Cup coffeemakers, and minibars. Desks are equipped with multi-unit connectivity panels. Other handy amenities include irons and ironing boards, robes, and slippers. The bathrooms have large walk-in showers with rainfall showerheads, and include magnifying mirrors, Lather-brand organic bath products, and hairdryers.

There are four room categories on offer, with Superior Rooms starting at 315 square feet, and the Deluxe Rooms offering a little more space at 395 square feet (but still featuring the same amenities). The Executive King Suites are a spacious 610 square feet, and provide separate bedrooms and living areas with wet bars, minibars, and microwaves. Suites also have marble bathrooms. The two Platinum Suites are more exclusive, measuring 785 square feet, and offer separate living rooms, kitchenettes, and spa-style bathrooms with soaking tubs.

Luxe City Center Hotel offers a few extra features and services to its guests, but don't expect to find a swimming pool or spa (although a spa technician is available on-call). On the second floor, niXon global kitchen + patio lounge is open for breakfast (not included in room rates), lunch, and dinner. Both indoor and outdoor seating is available and the space offers good views of downtown Los Angeles.

Located on the third floor, the fitness center is open throughout the day, and has an elliptical, a treadmill, and a stationary bike. For weight training and more extensive equipment, guests have free access to Gold's Gym, located three blocks away from the hotel.

Dogs are welcome and not charged any extra fee. The hotel offers a free “Downtown Doggie Package” that includes a memory-foam doggie bed, personalized food and water bowls, and free food and water, as well as a dog bone. Dog owners also receive an information guide with details of pet-friendly parks, restaurants, and activities.

Though parking is available on-site, there is no self-parking option, and the valet parking costs a high nightly fee. Other services on offer include concierge assistance, dry cleaning, car rental and limo service, a nightly turndown service, and room service. The hotel also has 6,000 feet of flexible meeting space, and Wi-Fi is free throughout the hotel.
