- Marble-clad bathrooms with heated floors

Bottom Line
Despite being a fairly large property, The Marylebone Hotel goes to every effort to bring a boutique, homey feel to the place, from the plush, inviting lobby to the traditional British theme of the restaurant. The location is great -- Marylebone Village is relatively quiet, yet just five minutes from the capital's hubbub. The 257 rooms are smart but fairly cozy, and include marble bathrooms with robes and slippers. Some are on the small side, however. For a cheaper option nearby, there's the Holiday Inn Oxford Circus -- but it offers a lot less in the way of character.

Polished, modern facade belying homey interiors
The Marylebone Hotel presents a modern yet formal facade of glass and polished stone, while upon entry visitors are met with a swirling mosaic centerpiece, plump cushions perched on homey sofas, and purple flocked wallpaper. Black-and-white photos decorate a cozy corner, while original artwork adds to an eclectic yet homey ambience (the hotel hosts pop-up exhibitions in conjunction with the Rebecca Hossack Art Gallery on a regular basis). The Drawing Room is another public space perfect for lounging, with plush velvet couches and zebra-print armchairs that sit on polished wooden floorboards. A huge floral-themed rug and matching crimson wallpaper make for an explosion of eye-catching color.

Boutique village-feel minutes walk from bustling Oxford Street
Set in the well-heeled central London neighborhood of Marylebone, the location is a blend of quiet residential and fashionable boutique. The nearest Underground station is Bond Street, which is less than a 10-minute walk away to the south. Regent's Park (with its boating lake and zoo) is less than a 10-minute walk away to the south.
