Bottom Line

The K+K Hotel George, a sophisticated, upscale hotel tucked inside a classic townhouse, offers smart, tasteful interior design and close proximity to the Earl's Court tube station. The 154-room property feels intimate, and offers a charming private garden with plenty of roaming space, a location on a quiet side street in Kensington, and bright, homey rooms. It may be worth comparing rates with the nearby Hotel Indigo, however, which is arguably a bit more stylish.

Scene

Sophisticated style in an elegant Victorian townhouse

From the glossy black reception desk and soft accented glass pieces to the hot splashes of red, K+K Hotel George's public areas offer a sophisticated welcome to guests. The London offshoot of of a small, independent Austrian brand started by two brothers in 1961, K+K Hotel George is neat and classy without sacrificing on service. While it claims to be a boutique hotel, at 154 rooms it’s a bit larger than some other London boutiques -- but charming details such as the small botanical display in the lobby and the hidden Tahitian wood statues in the lush private garden add a unique boutique feel.

Location

On a quiet side street just next to Earl’s Court tube station

The hotels' location on a quiet street in London's Kensington neighborhood make it a convenient option for travelers. It's just a few minutes away by foot from the Earl's Court tube station, where guests can access direct transfers to many of the city's tourist sights, as well as Heathrow Airport. The Olympia Exhibition Centre and plenty of local restaurants and grocery stores are within walking distance.

Rooms

Decorated in neutrals and rosewood, with plenty of natural light

While there is a striking, design-driven vibe in the public areas, the private rooms at K+K Hotel George are a bit more traditional and simple in style. The rosewood panels and neutral-tone textiles provide a muted backdrop. The rooms are decent in size and come with adjustable air-conditioning, satellite TVs with international channels, minibars, coffeemakers, free Wi-Fi, and spacious walk-in showers. Upper-level room categories are outfitted with more luxurious bathrooms complete with heated floors. Smoking rooms are available by request.

Features

A private garden, plus an attractive bar and bistro

The hotel's best feature is the wonderfully relaxing, well-manicured private garden, which offers plenty of roaming space (by London standards), private corners, and Tahitian wood carvings. Similarly, the beautifully designed bar and bistro offer a chic destination for meals. There are also a couple of small meeting rooms and an Internet lounge stocked with public computers and other standard business necessities. The wellness center is small but comes with a few cardio and weight training equipment plus a sauna and massage room. Massages are available upon request and with a fee. There's also private parking available along with free charging stations for electric vehicles.
