The 17-room Best
Western Maitrise Suites Apartment Hotel is an unassuming, upper-middle-range property set on the high street in the West London neighborhood
of West Ealing. While its suburban location offers
little in the way of tourist attractions, a nearby train station is
convenient for connecting to Heathrow Airport and Paddington Station. The spacious apartments are clean,
contemporary, and equipped with full kitchens, well-maintained bathrooms, and living areas with flat-screen TVs; some have washing machines. There is no restaurant on-site. For somewhere with a little more
character, take a look at the nearby Drayton Court, which has a historic pub
with a huge beer garden.
Scene
Modern, apartment-style hotel with shop-front facade and contemporary interiors
With signage and facade resembling a typical high street shopfront, arrival at the upper-middle-range Best Western Maitrise Suites can be a little underwhelming. Inside, however, the small reception
area has a pleasant contemporary vibe, with modern lighting, jazzy patterned lounge chairs, and a wall of mirrors. While reports suggest that there is often more than a
whiff of fast food coming in from the neighboring restaurants, hallways are clean and bright with large contemporary wall artworks. Clients are a mix of business and leisure travelers, with a fair share of families attracted by the suburban location and self-catering facilities.
Location
Set on the high street in the low-key West London suburb of West Ealing
Sandwiched
between a Subway outlet and a chicken restaurant, this hotel is part of a row of
high street shops located in the unglamorous London suburb of West Ealing.
While there are plenty of stores, a supermarket, and a small park in the
immediate area, there’s nothing in the way of tourist attractions or points of
interest within walking distance. Kew Gardens, a beautiful and historic
botanical garden, is 30 minutes away on the bus and Osterley Park and Manor (a
National Trust Georgian house) is 15 minutes away by car. The nearest train
station, West Ealing, is five minutes away on foot and connects to the central
London transport hub of Paddington Station in 15 minutes. Trains also run direct
to Heathrow Airport in 20 to 25 minutes.
Rooms
Sleek apartments with fully equipped kitchens and flat-screen TVs
This hotel has 17 apartments
configured as studios, one-bedroom, or two-bedroom units (sleeping up to four
guests). They're all finished with wood floors, sleek, contemporary
decor, and modern furnishings. They have fully equipped kitchens with ovens, stovetops, microwaves, and refrigerators; some also have washing machines. Living
areas have flat-screen TVs, couches, and small dining tables. Wi-Fi is free of charge. Wall decoration can vary widely, including boxing posters and black-and-white photographs of Audrey Hepburn. Bathrooms are bright, clean, and modern, with
shower/tub combos, soap and shampoo dispensers, and heated towel racks. Many rooms also have private
roof terraces. While rooms at the back of the hotel are less prone to traffic
noise, some overlook an unattractive car park.
Features
On-site parking, laundry service, and local food delivery
Being an aparthotel, there is no on-site restaurant and little in the way of public areas or facilities. The hotel does offer on-site parking (for a fee) and room service is available
via a third party (with in-room menus). Laundry and
dry cleaning services are also available for a fee. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout.
