B+B Belgravia

Inside a historic Georgian town house, the B+B Belgravia, with a filigree-wire light fixture and black-and-white tile floor at the entrance, stands out for its modern style. But the crown molding has been preserved in the lobby and Guest Lounge, which provides free newspapers, coffee, biscuits, tea, and a laptop station. White and black couches and chairs are accented by striped pillows, and a black-granite fireplace has decorative stones in lieu of the usual fire. The orange-backed chairs in the ultra-modern kitchen/breakfast room provide a break from the gray and black tones elsewhere, and lettered wallpaper festooned on one wall breaks up the solid colors. A gray countertop provides stools and a laptop. The room has a mounted flat-screen TV, and a kitchen area with a stove and ovens. 

The B+B Belgravia is on a quiet street in an upscale neighborhood with restaurants, shops, and the Victoria Train and Underground stations all within a five-minute walk. The Apollo Victoria Theater, Victoria Palace Theater, Sloane Square, and Royal Mews are a 10-minute walk from the hotel, while Westminster Cathedral, Buckingham Palace, Hyde Park Corner, and Green Park are within a 15-minute walk. Heathrow Airport is about a 30-minute drive.

Half the rooms at this B&B face the garden side of the hotel, and half face the street, and configurations are flexible -- nine rooms can be divided into Twins, and the remainder are Doubles and Family Rooms. Two rooms interconnect through a small foyer, and Family Rooms can sleep up to four. There's an accessible room, with a specially designed bathroom, on the ground floor. All rooms have modern, minimalist decor with black carpeting, gray walls, white armchairs, and crown molding -- a preserved, historic touch. Reading lights are built into the big, mid-tone wood headboards, and all windows open. Flat-screen TVs sit on floating wooden shelves. Some rooms get street and hallway noise. Gray-tone tile bathrooms have white bowl sinks on speckled granite countertops, and showers (only six rooms have tubs), and B+B Collection toiletries. 

Guests can choose a continental breakfast of juice, pastries, cheeses, fruit, cereal, and yogurt, or a full English breakfast -- both are included in the room rate. A black leather desk chair and a laptop comprise the business center in the Guest Lounge, and there are free rental bikes plus concierge services. There's no on-site parking, and guests must give advance notice if they're bringing pets (the limit is two dogs per room). Like most properties that accept pets, the B+B Belgravia requires a pet fee, and pets cannot be left alone in rooms. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the property.
