The Oberoi Beach Resort, Lombok

The Oberoi, Lombok only has 50 rooms, but the sprawling property has 24 acres of beautiful, manicured lawns dotted with palm trees. It's relatively removed from other resorts, and views of the Bali Sea can be seen throughout. The tropical setting emanates from the open-air, thatched-roof pavilions that house the spacious lobby and restaurants. Staff are dressed in traditional Indonesian garb and are on-hand in the reception area, which has rattan furniture and overlooks lovely ponds and reflection pools. Free horse-drawn pedicabs are often waiting outside the entrance and can provide guests with rides to the village of Tanjung. This resort is best-suited to travelers wanting an all-inclusive and quiet vacation, as the sprawling property provides privacy for both families and couples. 

The hotel has a secluded, quiet location on 24 acres of gorgeous, well-manicured grounds. It also has a small, private stretch of sandy beach that faces Mount Agung. There isn't much within walking distance, other than dining at Hotel The Lombok Lodge. It’s a 10-minute drive to the Lombok Golf Kosaido Country Club and 15 minutes to the Bangsal Ferry Terminal that has boats departing to the Gili Islands. The Lombok International Airport is an hour and 30 minutes away by car.

Rooms and villas are housed in Balinese thatched-roof pavilions with terraces overlooking the gardens or sea. The sandy private beach is small and lacks loungers. A water-sports center with a private jetty offers snorkeling, scuba diving, boat excursions, and deep-sea fishing. The hotel also offers the ecological activity of making coral transplant trips to rebuild the reef (seasonal activity). Other outdoor recreation activities include a tennis court and croquet. The spa features open-air treatment rooms and a pavilion with modern cardio machines and free weights. Facilities are incorporated into the beachfront setting through open-air dining at Lumbung Restaurant, which offers Western, Indonesian, and Indian fare. Sunbird Cafe faces the Medana Bay and has tables shaded by trees, while Tokek Bar sits by the pool. Romantic dinners for two can be arranged in an ocean-facing pavilion.Weddings can also be accommodated in the gardens, beach, or on the private jetty.
