Bottom Line
The 93-room Lefay Resort and Spa Lago di Garda is an eco-friendly luxury hotel with spectacular views at every turn, three stylish and chic pools, and an underground cave-style spa. Rooms are spacious and stylish and come with balconies and large tubs. The remote location, on a winding road, may discourage guests from venturing out, especially in evenings. A hotel closer to the lakefront, but with fewer deluxe amenities, is Villa Giuli.

Perfectly styled and manicured luxury hotel with magical views
If you love nature, style, and spectacular lake and mountain views, the Lefay is a great choice. The upscale hotel and property is dripping in style and elegance, from the manicured garden landscape to the stylish lobby that looks like it could have been plucked from a design magazine. The hotel blends into the natural setting of the hillside seamlessly, with a sleek outdoor saltwater infinity pool that appears to drop off into the lake and a green lawn dotted with chic lounge chairs and umbrellas. The opulent ambience and seclusion of the hotel attracts couples and some families.
Location
On a steep hilltop, far above Lake Garda
The hilltop resort is located on 27 acres and is accessible via a small meandering road. The remoteness of the hotel makes driving a necessity for most guests. It takes 12 minutes by car to get to Gargnano (although a free shuttle is also available). It's just over half an hour to the beautiful city of Salo, and about 45 minutes to Riva del Garda and Torbole, both of which can also be reached by boat. The Ristorante Da Guido Di Castellini Guido is the closest restaurant and takes about five minutes to reach by car. The Ristorante Fornico is 20 minutes away, as is the Bogliaco Golf Resort. The Verona Airport takes 90 minutes to reach.
Rooms
Stylish, spacious suites with unique designs, flat-screen TVs, and stunning views
Nothing is standard at the Lefay Resort, not even the rooms (all of which are actually suites). All have mixed wood flooring and walls that are accented by colorful modern paintings. Also on offer: streamlined leather furniture, flat-screen TVs, writing desks, and balconies with stunning landscape views. Modern and stylish bathrooms come with tubs, separate walk-in showers, custom toiletries, and bathrobes. Some rooms have whirlpool tubs next to large windows that overlook the lake as well as separate sitting areas and garden terraces.
Features
Modern gym and luxury spa with underground hot tub and cave-style treatment rooms
The large, modern gym with a mirrored back wall and hardwood floors has big windows with stunning views. The Mediterranean-themed spa is no different, with lounge chairs positioned to allow guests to take in the beautiful scenery. Features include a sauna, a Turkish bath, and multiple treatment rooms designed to feel like a colorful network of caves. There are also three saltwater pools on the property, including an outdoor infinity pool and an indoor pool with a skylight. Regional cuisine is served at Trattoria alla Vigna for lunch and dinner (reservations required). A free, fresh buffet breakfast is offered every morning in La Grande Limonaia, which also has a Sunday brunch from October-April. This restaurant is shut for lunch and serves slightly lighter cuisine at dinnertime than what you'll find at the Trattoria.
