Bottom Line

The Premier Inn Llandudno North (Little Orme) Hotel is a small lower-middle-range chain property within walking distance of the beach. Its 19 contemporary rooms are simple but not unpleasant, with flat-screen TVs, air-conditioning, and electric kettles. On-site features are limited, and while there's no gym, pool, or even elevator at the hotel, there is a dinner restaurant with a bar and both Wi-Fi and parking are free. While it's a good value overall, travelers wanting something a bit livelier and closer to town should consider The Grand Hotel – Llandudno, a good alternative in the city center with two restaurants and bars plus evening entertainment.

Scene

Basic chain hotel with no elevator, popular with budget travelers, particularly families

The Premier Inn Llandudno North (Little Orme) Hotel is a budget-friendly pick popular with couples and families visiting the seaside town of Llandudno. It’s housed in a charming two-story stone structure right next to the Craigside Inn. Interiors feature the typical Premier Inn chain color scheme of purple and white everywhere, and the lobby is plain, with a rack of tourist pamphlets and a vending machine. The only other public space is the Brewer Fayre’s restaurant, which has a homey, pub-style feel with printed carpet, a wooden bar, and a mix of maroon-and-white and exposed brick walls. Travelers with mobility issues should note that there's no elevator in the building.

Location

Outside of Llandudno, but within walking distance of the beach

This property sits on the outskirts of Llandudno, an eight-minute walk from the sea and beach, in an area without much in the way of restaurants or activities. It’s a location well-suited for those with a car, although there is a bus stop an eight-minute walk away. Walking to the city center takes about half an hour, where guests will find plenty of restaurants and things to do. For those wanting to visit nearby sights, the Great Orme is a 12-minute drive away, while Conwy Castle takes 15 minutes to reach by car. Maesdu Golf Course is a seven-minute drive from the hotel. The closest airports are in Liverpool or Manchester, each of which takes an hour and fifteen minutes to reach by car.

Rooms

Simple, contemporary rooms with flat-screen TVs, kettles, and air-conditioning

Those who have stayed at a Premier Inn hotel will find the guest rooms here a carbon copy of others in the chain. The same royal purple color scheme dominates, paired with white beds and modular blond-wood furniture. It's a simple, paired-down look with little in the way of embellishment. Amenities include flat-screen TVs, kettles, and air-conditioning, as well as Hypnos mattresses, desks, and black-out curtains. Bathrooms are basic but clean with shower/tub combos, hairdryers, and toiletries in wall-mounted dispensers. While rooms are generally in good repair, some past guests have noted that carpeting and decor looks worn and tired.

Features

Limited amenities include breakfast, dinner restaurant, room service, free Wi-Fi, and free parking

Premier Inn is known for delivering the basics to budget travelers, and this particular one isn’t any different. The property’s main features center around dining options, with both hot and continental breakfast options for a fee. Brewer’s Fayre is open in the evenings for dinner (but closed for lunch) and offers a selection of international dishes including lasagna, burgers, and other pub fare. There's also a bar. Room service is available, and up to two children under 16 eat breakfast for free when their parents purchase breakfast. Wi-Fi is free throughout the hotel, however it has limitations on data and number of devices. Faster Wi-Fi packages are also available for an extra fee. On-site parking is free.
