Masseria Bagnara Resort & Spa

The resort has a beautiful, tranquil atmosphere, with sun-bleached stone buildings and large outdoor patios set on an expansive landscape. The grounds are covered with pebbled walkways, manicured grassy areas, cacti, vibrant flowers, and vine-covered buildings. The front lobby is situated next to a lobby bar and has a low arched ceiling, a rustic stone floor, and a bronze front desk with a unique cutout of a tree and a one of the hotel buildings. The resort is ideal for those looking an escape, where they can relax, take care of their well-being, and enjoy the luxury surroundings. A tranquil and glamorous atmosphere attracts solo adults and couples rather than families with children. 

The resort is located in a remote stretch of beautiful countryside, just off a quiet, rural road that leads to the property via a long driveway lined with flowers. While there's nothing of interest within reasonable walking distance, it's a 10-minute drive to the town of Lizzano, which has a variety of restaurants, shops, and activities. It is also just a seven-minute drive to the beautiful Salentina Ionian Coast. It takes around an hour to get to Val D'Itria and about 40 minutes to reach Taranto. Due to the resort's removed location, it's a good idea to get a rental car although bicycles are also available for guests to borrow. 

The rooms and suites at the resort are large, spacious, and modern. Decor is chic and stylish, with domed ceilings, contemporary dark-wood furniture, and lavender accents. Rooms have comfortable queen-sized beds, desks, large walk-in closets, upholstered armchairs, and matching ottomans. There are also mini-fridges, safes, and satellite flat-screen TVs. Most of the rooms have their own private terraces with views of the beautiful surrounding scenery. The bathrooms are modern and sleek, with tiled floors and walls, large, colorful bowl sinks, tiled showers, bidets, and Comfort Zone-brand toiletries. Noise and cleanliness aren't issues in the rooms. 

The gorgeous, serene spa is among the resort's most attractive features and offers a variety of relaxing treatments as well as an indoor pool and the multi-sensory showers. Outside, there's a raised outdoor pool that has panoramic views of the surrounding landscape -- but it lacks shade and past guests have complained it can be difficult to find an available sun lounger. A free breakfast is offered at the Mediterranean-style restaurant, which has indoor seating in cozy nooks, as well as outdoor seating on a patio. Lunch and dinner are available (as is room service) and the restaurant has an adjacent bar. Alternatively, guests can have a drink in the wine cellar, located in a small, round, stone building that's lined with wine bottles all the way up to its circular skylight. Wi-Fi and parking are both free.
