Scene
Historic building packed with charm in low-key neighborhood, suitable for all sorts of travelers
This hotel is located in a four-story 19th-century brick warehouse that's packed with historic charm and character. Big stone columns mark the entrance into the property, and guests can park for free on the cobblestones in front of the hotel. Potted trees flank the glass front doors leading into the building. Inside, exposed brick ceilings, huge columns, and steel supports give an industrial feel to the lobby. Cushy sectionals provide a comfy place for guests to hang out. Hallways to guest rooms are wide and spacious. As throughout the hotel, artwork depicts images of the Titanic and the White Star Line. Although there are large windows, the lobby is a bit dim, as is the hotel overall. Occasional live music helps give the hotel some life, and celebrities are known to pass through as well. Overall, though, the atmosphere is quiet and laid-back, suitable for all sorts of travelers who appreciate history and don't mind being away from the city center.
