Bottom Line

Residencial Roxi is a budget hotel in a convenient
location near a metro station and within walking distance of the city center. The 16 rooms at the hotel are dated, with tube TVs and
out-of-style curtains, plus some have shared bathrooms. But it could be a challenge to find a better option at such a low rate and so centrally located. There’s no elevator at the hotel, which could pose a problem for guests
with limited mobility. The neighboring areas are a bit shady, and guests should take precautions with belongings -- there's also a safe at the front desk for valuables.

Scene

Dated hotel in charming wedge-shaped building

The Residencial Roxi is located in a pretty yellow
building with wrought-iron balconies that sits in front of a patterned stone sidewalk
and a metro station. Guests have to ring a buzzer to enter the hotel. Inside, the reception is dated, with a knotty
wood-paneled front desk area. There’s no elevator at the hotel, and the stairway has
a metal railing with chipped paint and textured popcorn ceilings. The hotel has a homey living
room area with floor-length curtains, green couches for guests to relax on, and a tubeTV. Guests
are a mix of solo travelers and couples, and there are shared bathrooms with handheld shower hoses for those staying in rooms without private bathrooms.

Location

On a busy main street with plenty of restaurants and shops nearby

Residencial Roxi is located on a the
Avenida Almirante Reis, one of the main avenues of Lisbon. There are plenty of local
businesses in walking distance, including restaurants and shops, but some of the streets nearby feel shady, particularly at night. The Intendente Metro
Station is a half a block away, making it an easy commute to most of the city. St. George’s
Castle and the lively Bairro Alto neighborhood can be reached within 30
minutes on public transportation. The airport is a 15-minute drive away.

Rooms

Plain rooms with private or shared bathrooms

Rooms at Resdencial Roxi
have white walls, wooden floors, and dated decor including salmon-colored
bedding, floor-length curtains, cheap-looking wooden furnishings, and wall-mounted tube TVs. Single, Double, and Triple Rooms are available. Some rooms have sinks and
bidets but share bathrooms, while others have their own tiny,
white-tiled bathrooms with walk-in showers. Soap is provided, but shampoo and other toiletries are not.

Features

Business corner with computer and printer, 24-hour reception desk, and free Wi-Fi

The hotel has limited amenities, but reception is available 24 hours a day. There's a
homey living room area with a TV and couches as well as a business corner with a computer
and a printer. A safe is available at the front desk, and the hotel has free
Wi-Fi.
