All feature attractive, streamlined decor and some have terraces. Limited parking is available on-site and there's a small meeting room that can seat up to eight people. Visitors may want to compare rates at the Altis Belem Hotel and Spa, which has more amenities.
Scene
Small, historic property has lovely city views from a dining terrace.
The Hotel do Chiado’s simple Pombaline architecture blends into the historic district, complete with its charming cobblestone streets. The hotel is housed in the Armazens do Chiado building, which dates back to 1894 but was largely destroyed by a fire. With the help of architect Siza Vieira, the building was restored in 1988. A glass door with an Art Deco marquee leads to the quaint lobby, where there’s a chandelier hanging above a small contemporary lounge area. Two narrow elevators are beside a Santa Justa Elevator mural. The hallways have cultural illustrations and photos on the walls and there are a few comfy chairs for lounging. The hotel’s location on a hill and a rooftop dining terrace provide beautiful views of Lisbon, including the Sao Jorge Castle and the Tagus River.
Location
Located in Baxia, between the Bairro Alto and Pombaline Centre

Tourist and historic sights -- including Avenida da Liberdade, the Santa Justa Elevator, Castle de Sao Jorge, and Igreja de Sao Roque -- are in walking distance. It’s also a 10-minute walk to the Bairro Alto, known for its nightlife. The riverside plaza, Praca Do Comercio, is a five-minute walk away. Other attractions can be reached by car, including the Jeronimos Monastery and Belem Tower which are 15 minutes away. It’s a 20-minute drive to the Lisbon Portela Airport.

Three Superior Single and Double rooms overlook the Tagus River and the Espirito Santo staircase, some from French-style balconies. Premium Single and Double/Twin rooms offer garden terraces with excellent views. Suite Castelo -- the hotel’s junior suite -- has a separate small sitting area, a balcony and canopy bed.
