This four-pearl business hotel, located on the western edge of residential San Isidoro, is perfectly adequate, though nothing about it really stands out. The small outdoor pool is average, and the spa -- though affordable -- is somewhat uninviting. There is a nicely equipped fitness center, and the business center is spacious with multiple computers and free coffee. Most of the 180 rooms aren’t anything special, with somewhat bland decor, and in some, old tube TVs. The Level, which is the concierge floor, offers more bang for the buck -- with free breakfast buffet and an evening open bar, as well as rooms with flat-screen TVs, deep Jacuzzi tubs, and a more contemporary style. It's worth comparing rates with the Sonesta Hotel El Olivar and the Swissotel, both of which have more central locations in the San Isidoro neighborhood.

The Melia Lima is located on the far western edge of residential San Isidro, right on the border with Magdalena del Mar neighborhood. While San Isidro is a lovely quiet area, home to the renowned Lima Golf Club and numerous embassies, this part feels seedier and not all that safe. The hotel stands directly on one of the main thoroughfares in Lima, which offers easy access to the airport, but it is far from local attractions, restaurants, and shops.- 30-minute drive to J Chavez International Airport
