Termeroma Spa and Resort is a luxury 50-room property located
on the vast grounds of the Oasi di Porto natural reserve on the
outskirts of Fiumicino, not far from the Rome airport. More a wellness center than a
hotel, the resort gets many day visitors who come to use the spa and pool, for which day-trippers and overnight guests pay a fee. Guest rooms and suites are large and elegantly
decorated, and come with nice extras like minibars stocked with Champagne and Nespresso machines. Some also have terraces. Bathrooms are decorated in ancient Roman marble. A 30-minute drive from Rome, QC Termeroma Spa and Resort is for travelers seeking to relax in a beautiful setting away from the city's traffic and noise. Another option could be the Hotel Tiber Fiumicino, though it lacks any wellness facilities.
Scene
A luxurious atmosphere set in an exceptional natural setting
QC
Termeroma Spa and Resort sits on expansive leafy grounds that make
up part of the Oasi di Porto natural reserve. The property includes
three rambling buildings (Domus Lauri, Domus Rosae, and Iris) of
lime plaster facades painted in bright shades of burnt sienna. It's surrounded by trees and gardens, and several outdoor
terraces. Its many
underground areas were once used to mature cheese. There are
several outdoor pools, big lawns with sun loungers, and covered
chill-out areas with cozy hanging chairs. The luxurious interiors are
decorated in a classical Italian style, with exposed beams,
arched doorways, beautiful ceramic tiling, and traditional furniture.
Most travelers come here to relax and make use of the spa facilities -- many find the treatments help them recover from jet lag, or rejuvenate before a long journey home. Couples make up most of the clientele, but children receive a warm
welcome, too.
Location
Located in the Oasi di Porto natural park near Rome Fiumicino Airport
QC
Termeroma Spa and Resort is located in the Oasi di Porto natural
park, an eight-minute drive away from Rome Fiumicino Airport, and a 30-minute drive to Rome's city center. The sea is close by -- about a nine-minute drive to the
beachfront from the hotel. The Port of Civitavecchia, from where many
cruise ships depart, is a 50-minute drive away. Other places of
interest in the area include the archaeological area of Porto di
Traiano (an 11-minute drive), the excavations and museum at Ostia Antica
(a 13-minute drive), and Castello di Giulio II, a 15th-century papal
fortress (a 13-minute drive). But the property is somewhat isolated, with no restaurants or other services in the immediate vicinity.
Rooms
Elegant guest rooms and suites with luxurious bathrooms
The 50 luxurious guest rooms and suites at QC Termeroma Spa and Resort are
decorated in a style of understated elegance, with beautiful tile floors, traditional furniture, and many lamps to add a warm
glow. Many of the guest rooms have charming outdoor terraces with attractive wrought-iron garden furniture, and scenic views over the park. Suites have sitting areas. The color palette consists of soothing cream and
dusty rose tones, contrasting a bit with the floral-patterned curtains. The spacious bathrooms are exceptional: They're outfitted with
marble sink tops and marble wall and floor tiles, large mirrors,
bathtub and shower combos with rainfall showerheads, bidets,
magnifying mirrors, and heated towel racks. All rooms come with air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs, stocked minibars (which
include Champagne), Nespresso machines, and free Wi-Fi.
Features
Extensive spa and wellness center -- though fees apply
QC
Termeroma Spa and Resort offers a variety of treatments and
facilities at its extensive wellness center. This includes saunas,
sensory baths, hydromassage chairs, a hammam, whirlpools, massage
therapy, several indoor and outdoor pools, a Japanese bath, a fitness
center, and relaxation areas. There's a “wellness course” in the
resort that traverses the buildings' underground areas, ending at a hot tub in the middle of the park. Use of the wellness center
commands a hefty extra fee.An a la carte breakfast buffet (not included in all rates) is served in the elegant
breakfast room, which has a pleasant adjacent outdoor patio. The two
on-site restaurants serve classic Italian cuisine buffet-style and a
la carte. But some past guests report the quality is not always consistent, which is even more of a down point given the price of the meals. Hotel guests are
invited to a free daily happy hour with wine and snacks.Other
services include limited room
service, luggage storage, concierge services, laundry, meeting facilities, and
a business center. Wi-Fi is free throughout
the property, and there's free shuttle service to and from Rome Fiumicino Airport, and
free on-site parking.
