The white, three-story Il San Francesco Charming Hotel looks more like a mansion on lush garden grounds than a hotel. The property is built inside a national park on Lake Sabaudia, so expect sprawling lawns, blooming flowers, and wooded forests. An L-shaped dock juts into the lake, providing a nice spot to read or relax on a white sun lounger. Meals can be served indoors in the almost completely white dining room or on the sophisticated patio with garden views. The overall vibe of the hotel is relaxed and quiet.

The hotel fits in beautifully with its isolated and green surroundings inside Circeo National Park. The area is best explored on one of the property's free bikes, though a car is required to leave the property as it's quite secluded. Parking is free. Guests are chauffeured to a nearby private beach in the summer via shuttle. The Rome Airport is about an hour and a half away by car, with traffic.

There are 27 rooms and suites inside Il San Francesco Charming Hotel and each has views of Circeo National Park or Lake Sabaudia. Like the rest of the hotel, decor is mostly white and spotlessly clean. Colonial details include high ceilings and natural wooden chairs. Wi-Fi is free and each room has a flat-screen TV, minibar, and comfortable mattress with crisp white sheets. Bathrooms are nicely sized (some have bathtubs) with white or blue tiles, but with single sinks. Each room has a pretty view of the lake or garden grounds. Some guests have complained that noise is an issue when the windows are open in particular rooms.

Restaurant Da Ludo sul Lago serves three meals a day, al fresco in the garden or indoors in the elegant dining room. The hotel is very popular for weddings, seating up to 200 people outdoors. It also offers indoor meeting space with audiovisual equipment.
