Achilleos City Hotel is a three-pearl city hotel that's a half-block walk from the beach, shops, and restaurants galore in the heart of central Larnaca. There are only 32 rooms here, but all are chicly decorated, with beautiful bathrooms, black-light accents, and plush crushed-velvet sofas (in most). Breakfast is served buffet style (and the hotel throws in some local specialties for good measure), but there's no restaurant for lunch or dinner. There is a fitness center, and guests get free access to self-serve laundry facilities located next door. Overall, this is a great deal for travelers wanting a hip and boutique-like experience on a budget. Those willing to fork out a tad bit more cash should consider the sleeker Ciao Stelio Deluxe Hotel down the road, which has a great restaurant and includes access to a huge gym across the road. 

Overlooking the beach, just south of the Larnaca city center, The Ciao Stelio Deluxe Hotel is a four-pearl adult-only boutique hotel. The 53 rooms and suites here are elegant and sleekly designed, with ample use of white furniture and all sorts of nice amenities and freebies. Facilities here include a lovely restaurant with an upscale vibe where a free and varied breakfast buffet is served, plus a bar and a small meeting room. While there's no fitness center or pool, guests do get free access to the facilities at a large sports complex nearby (and swimming at the beach across the road is always an option). Travelers looking for an upscale hotel with more amenities may be better off at the Golden Bay Beach Hotel, an upscale resort north of the city center.
