Pros
- Less than 10-minute walk to the beach and shopping mall
- Homey One-Bedroom Apartments with kitchenettes
- Outdoor pool with a separate children’s section
- International buffet restaurant with all-inclusive options
- Lounge and snack bar with poolside seating
- Occasional entertainment and resort activities
Cons
- Wi-Fi, TV remotes, and safes cost a fee
- Housekeeping is not daily and rooms lack air-conditioning
- Dated decor and reports of grime, cleanliness issues, and bug infestations
Bottom Line
The two-and-a-half-pearl BelleVue Aquarius hotel is less than a 10-minute walk to the closest beach. Popular with couples and families, this hotel has a generally quiet atmosphere with 167 apartments with kitchenettes and separate living rooms. All-inclusive rates are available at the on-site restaurant. The hotel serves a hot breakfast buffet in the morning and the outdoor pool is the main highlight here. However, the flat-screens TVs, safes, and Wi-Fi all cost a pesky fee and there have been complaints of grime and dirt. Travelers might want to try Apartamentos Panorama which has updated decor, a gym, and generally overall clean spaces.

Scene
Budget-friendly hotel with a modern white facade that attracts couples and families
BellueVue Aquarius has a lovely façade: a spread out, white-tiered building with views of the ocean from all rooms. Potted plants, flowers, and tropical plants litter the walkways and stairways. Though the exteriors appear visibly clean, the interiors are less so. The decor is homey throughout with floral patterns, however, the accents were last updated in the '90s. There have also been quite a few complaints of grime, mold, and bug infestations. Given its proximity to the beach and budget-friendly prices, it’s popular with couples and families who are comfortable with the basics.
Location
Nine-minute walk to the closest beach and close to restaurants and shopping
BelleVue Aquarius has a decent location that’s a four-minute walk to the harbor and a nine-minute walk to the closest beach. The area is teeming with restaurants and there’s a mall that’s eight minutes away on foot. As far as things to do in the area, there’s the Rancho Texas Lanzarote Park, a theme park and zoo that’s perfect for families and is only a seven-minute drive away. It’s also a seven-minute drive to Lanzarote Golf Course. The Lanzarote Airport takes 13 minutes to reach by car. Parking is not available at the hotel.
Rooms
Homey apartments with flat-screen TVs and kitchenettes; fees for TVs, safes, and Wi-Fi
The One-Bedroom Apartments at this property were made with the beach in mind. The decor is without much fanfare, though it does manage to provide charming views of the ocean from all rooms. Accents like floral patterned curtains and bedding seek to add some color and a homey vibe to the spaces, however, the designs are quite dated and the fabric is worn. Amenities include flat-screen TVs, Wi-Fi, kitchenettes with sinks, two-burner stoves, kettles, mini-fridges, ovens, and microwaves. Unfortunately, the TV, safes, and Wi-Fi require pesky fees, plus rooms lack air-conditioning and housekeeping isn't provided daily. Bathrooms feature shower/tub combos, simple toiletries, and old-fashioned hairdryers. Past guests have complained about everything from broken fixtures to unpleasant odors to grime and visible mold.
Features
Outdoor pool, all-inclusive food options, and a charge for Wi-Fi
BelleVue Aquarius could improve in many aspects, including the features. The hotel has a round pool with a children’s section. Guests have noted that ducks often swim in the pool, and during our visit, we noticed it was poorly cleaned. As a resort, the hotel offers various meal plans and all-inclusive options. Breakfast buffets are offered in the restaurant each morning, as are lunch and dinner. Drinks are available for most hours of the day. There’s also a lounge and snack bar that provides additional snacks and drinks throughout the day. However, past guests have complained about food quality. Occasionally, the hotel provides entertainment and activities for resort guests. Babysitting services can be booked for a fee. The hotel has a public computer and Wi-Fi, but both cost a fee.
