The 17-room Hotel Il Perlo Panorama is known as the "Bike
Hotel” for the extensive biking and cycling services that it offers. This includes bike rental, repair, washing, trail and road maps, free bike
storage, and more. Its location outside the city of Bellagio makes it easy for guests to
take off on different bike paths, and also provides a romantic setting in the
mountains. The terrace on the green gardens and the on-site restaurant and bar provides
panoramic views of Lake Como. Some rooms also have the option of lake views
and a balcony or terrace. Though the rooms in this two-pearl property are dated, have an odd mix of decor, don't all come with air-conditioning, they are spacious and homey with flat-screen TVs. One alternative (without all of the cycling amenities) is Hotel La Pergola, with a lakefront location outside of Bellagio near water sports companies. Both Wi-Fi and parking are free.
Scene
A small, two-pearl hotel with garden and terrace facing Lake Como that's a favorite pick for cyclists
The two-pearl Hotel II Perlo Panorama is a tan-colored hotel with two buildings, a main building plus a smaller building that houses rooms and is located below the hotel terrace.
The parking lot is directly in front of the hotel and is accessed when
turning from the main road. This cycling-friendly hotel has space to store guests' bikes and bikes available for rent. Green grounds with stone paths surround the hotel, including a canopy of trees with shade, tables, and chairs. At the edge of the garden is a terrace, built on the
edge of the hill facing Lake Como. The lobby is a bright and homey space, with golden yellow walls, furniture with dark wood, and tile floors. In the lobby there is a small desk with a computer and printer for guest
use. Stairs lead from the lobby and to the narrow interior golden
yellow hallways upstairs with faded green carpet. Most guests are cyclists utilizing the generous bike rental and cycling services, as well as couples enjoying the romantic
views from the terrace. This no-frills property provides the basics, with the added perks of the lovely terrace and special catering for cyclists.
Location
On a hill above Bellagio and surrounded by bike and hiking trails
The Hotel Il Perlo Panorama is located on a hill above
the city of Bellagio and offers a quiet atmosphere away from the bustle of the
city. However, guests can visit Bellagio by car or with the hotel’s free shuttle
which is just a five-minute drive. Bike and hiking trails surround the hotel; guests can explore with maps provided by the hotel. As for dining
options near the hotel, it's a four-minute drive to the
Ristorante La Busciona or a 12-minute walk to Pizzeria La Torretta, the closest restaurants. To access diverse dining options guests might need to
use the shuttle or the car and head to Bellagio. Lastly, Lake Como is only about
a five-minute drive, though the hotel suggests using Lake Como SUP by Bellagio
Water Sports for kayaking and other water activities, which is a nine-minute
drive away.
Rooms
Spacious, basic rooms with the option of lake views and balconies
There are a variety of rooms at the Hotel Il Perlo
Panorama including Standard Rooms, Junior Suite Verandas, and Family Rooms. Twelve of these rooms are located in the main building and five are located in the building below the terrace. The Standard Rooms have the same golden-colored walls as the lobby and an eclectic mix of decor
which includes floral patterned bedspreads, multi-colored abstract paintings, and
boho-patterned rugs. Standard Rooms are dated and basic and lack air conditioners, though they are quite spacious and have small flat-screen TVs. Superior Rooms have extra space in the form of a separate lounge area with
a couch. Most bathrooms aren’t spacious and have little to no counter space, but all include a hairdryer and a stall shower. The
best feature of the rooms is the option of having a lake view and a balcony,
though some mountain-view rooms have terraces. In comparison, the Junior Suite Verandas and the
Family Rooms have better decor with a red, orange, and brown color scheme. They
also have much more space, a table with chairs, a couch, air-conditioning, and a larger
flat-screen TV. The outdoor terrace is by far the best feature and
provides panoramic views of Lake Como and the mountains. The bathrooms are much
larger in a Junior Suite Veranda room and include larger showers and bidets,
though still don't have much counter space. As for the Family Room, it has up to
three beds (more can be requested), a living area with a large glass table that
seats six, and a lake-view covered porch. Wi-Fi is free throughout.
