Bottom Line

The four-pearl DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Kusadasi is a top-notch pick for upscale at an affordable price. It’s just outside of Kusadasi’s city center and offers great amenities like two pools, a spa, 24-hour gym, rooftop restaurant with ocean views, and a varied breakfast buffet. The 88 rooms are modern and trendy with minibars, kettles, and balconies, some of which have ocean views. Plus, they offer historic cottages for rent with private hot tubs and living rooms. Unfortunately, Wi-Fi is pretty spotty here (and only free with loyalty membership or direct booking), and there are some noise complaints that come from outside the hotel. Travelers may also want to consider Hotel Adakule which is a family-friendly option with direct ocean access and multiple pools with a waterslide.

Scene

Chain hotel with a trendy design and a clientele of couples and families

The upscale DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Kusadasi is situated in a beautiful modern building made of glass, steel, gray stone, and wooden accents. Though families and couples are the main clientele, this property definitely has a more business-like atmosphere that’s a bit cold in comfort, from the staff to the design. The lobby has beautiful white marble floors and a front desk, a grand staircase, and trendy hanging chandeliers. However, there are only a few futuristic chairs to sit in, with most of the seating focused around the business center -- none of it looks welcoming enough for guests to sit and interact. Still, visitors can’t deny it’s a pleasing design throughout. The spa has gorgeous tile mosaics, while the pools have floral designs and tiled zig zag lines along the bottom. The rooftop restaurant is chic with lofty white and gray tones and blond wooden chairs. Plus, the views of the Aegean Sea are breathtaking and draw many guests during sunset.

Location

A 20-minute walk from the city center and 30-minute drive to the House of the Virgin Mary

Though the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Kusadasi advertises a city center location, it’s more accurately about a 20-minute walk from the city, and in a spot that’s across from the marina. Still, that doesn’t mean that it’s a bad location. Rather, there’s a lot of restaurants and bars on surrounding streets, especially along Ataturk Boulevard which travelers can follow to the city center. As for attractions, it’s fairly easy to get to most of them from the hotel by car. The House of the Virgin Mary, the most significant attraction in the area, is a 32-minute drive away. It’s a 20-minute drive to the ancient city of Epheseus which has the Epheseus Archeological Museum and the Temple of Artemis. The Celsus Library takes 24 minutes to reach by car. Though these attractions are best visited by car, there is a bus stop that’s a nine-minute walk away. It’s an hour’s drive to the Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport.

Rooms

Modern rooms with flat-screen TVs, minibars, kettles, and balconies with sea or city views

With a white-and-blue color scheme, gray carpeting with blue circular designs, gray accents, and trendy chairs, these rooms are stylish and modern. All rooms come with amenities like flat-screen TVs, minibars, kettles, air-conditioning, Wi-Fi, safes, and balconies with sea or city views. Deluxe Rooms offer private sun decks and shared private pools. Like the rooms, bathrooms are chic and clean with a gray-and-blue color scheme, shower/tub combos, hairdryers, and toiletries.  Some guests note that there’s bothersome noise from outside the hotel. The majority of the rooms are located in the main building, though this DoubleTree also offers historical Aegean stone houses as Suites. These houses have additional space, high ceilings, living rooms, and private gardens with hot tubs. The Marina Suite has a kitchenette. Separate glass showers and tubs are available in the stone cottages.

Features

Indoor and outdoor pools, hot tub, spa, gym, breakfast buffet, restaurants, and rooftop bar

There are some upscale features for all types of travelers at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Kusadasi. First, there’s an indoor and outdoor pool that’s complemented by a hot tub and a pool bar. The hotel’s spa is a beautiful mosaic of tiles with a relaxation area, sauna, and beauty treatments and massages. To stay fit, there’s a 24-hour gym with modern Precor cardio and weight equipment, plus free weights. As for dining, there’s an extensive breakfast buffet served every morning (for a fee) that includes hot and cold items, as well as gluten-free options upon request. The Piccione Alacarte Restaurant offers Italian cuisine, while the rooftop restaurant serves a variety of local and international foods with lovely views of the Aegean Sea from inside and on the outdoor patio. There’s also a pastry and cake shop on-site at Linnet Patisserie. Room service is available with limited hours. For business travelers, there are four meeting rooms, one ballroom, and a business center. Guests who don’t want to pay for Wi-Fi should book through the hotel website or join the loyalty program for free. Self-parking is free.
