Bottom Line

Just across from the Pavilion shopping center, the 443-room Westin
Kuala Lumpur is a five-pearl chain hotel in a convenient location. There are
several restaurants on-site offering Italian, Latin, and Cantonese cuisine, but
the breakfast buffet receives mixed reviews. The outdoor pool area is
particularly pretty with a stone walkway and leafy landscape. Rooms are
polished and tastefully decorated, if a touch generic, with 40-inch flat-screen TVs, stocked
minibars, electric kettles, and free Wi-Fi. Business
travelers are drawn in by the business center and an Executive Club, but
families are also catered to with a kids' club and a kiddy pool. For a similar rate, guests should check out Traders Hotel, Kuala
Lumpur, which offers an excellent location near the Petronas Twin Towers and a
popular rooftop nightclub, but no outdoor pool.

Scene

Luxury, chain hotel popular with business travelers

The Westin Kuala Lumpur is located on a chaotic street busy with
pedestrians and traffic, across from the Pavilion mall. The buzz continues
in the spacious lobby where business travelers discuss work, while other guests
are checking-in and families head out to explore the city. The restaurants on-site
are stylish -- there’s the Living Room, where the buffet breakfast and weekday
high tea are served, a round dining room in an atrium with mint green chairs,
and Five Sen5es, the Cantonese restaurant, with low seating, a koi pond, and an
exposed kitchen. Outside, the pool area is lovely with a stone walkway dividing
the children’s and adult pool, both with pretty mosaic blue-tiled bottoms.
Leafy landscaping adds to the relaxing atmosphere while a handful of lounge
chairs offer a spot to relax.

Location

In Golden Triangle across from the Pavilion Mall

This hotel is in a convenient spot just across from the Pavilion mall and next to Starhill Gallery shopping center. The free Go KL bus stops
a minute away from the hotel and provides transportation to attractions in the city. There
are several major shopping centers in the area with plenty of stores, bars, and
restaurants. Lot 10 and Sungei Wang Plaza are within a 10-minute walk, and
Berjaya Times Square, a shopping center with a theme park, is just a little
farther. KLCC convention center is a 14-minute walk away. It’s around a nine-minute drive to
the Petronas Twin Towers, and just over a 45-minute drive to the airport.

Rooms

Tastefully decorated rooms with 40-inch flat-screen TVs and minibars

Rooms at the
Westin Kuala Lumpur are polished with a subtle elegance that's apparent in its rich textiles and tasteful color palette, a soft off-white paired with gray accents and ebony wood. Tan leather headboards, crisp white linens, and sleek work desks keep things stylish. But there's no bold pop of color or attention-grabbing artwork to keep the rooms from becoming a touch generic. Massive panoramic windows give impressive
views and loads of sunlight. All rooms have minibars, electric kettles, 40-inch flat-screen TVs, and
free Wi-Fi. Bathrooms, with vessel sinks and marble countertops, come stocked with Westin White
Tea toiletries. Walk-in showers and separate soaking tubs are standard in every room.
Residences are available with kitchens and dining tables, and guests staying in
Executive Rooms have access to the Executive Club with free breakfast, snacks, and a
business center.

Features

Lovely outdoor pool with poolside bar, several restaurants, fitness center, and kids' club

This hotel has a lovely outdoor pool and children’s pool with a
poolside bar serving drinks and snacks. There are several restaurants on-site
offering a variety of cuisine including Italian, Latin, and Cantonese, but the
breakfast buffet receives mixed reviews for spotty service. There's a fitness
center with cardio machines and free weights, and a kids' club (for a fee)
with activities organized in a playroom with toys and a plastic
slide. A total of 20 meeting rooms are available for private events. Guests staying in Executive Rooms have access to a business center in the Executive Club, along with free breakfast, snacks, and ample seating by banks of windows with city views. Parking is available for a fee. Wi-Fi is free throughout.
