Swiss Inn is a colorful and cheap hotel in Kuala Lumpur, attracting tourists looking to be in the center of the Chinatown action. Within a quick walk of bustling Petaling Street and Central Market, guests benefit from convenient setting without the accompanying noise. Unfortunately, the reportedly lackluster service, unpleasant odors, occasional maintenance issues, and lack of windows in some rooms don't make up for the affordable rates. Additionally, some rooms require taking two elevators. Nevertheless, rooms are largely contemporary and subdued in style, done in largely neutral tones with hints of mauve or red in bathrooms. The lobby is more old-fashioned and funky, with a rainbow painted on one wall, green and red chairs, a large painting of a Petaling Street scene, and a grandfather clock. The casual restaurant has indoor and patio seating, where diners can gaze at the passersby at the bustling shopping center. Overall, it's hard to beat the price and location at Swiss Inn, but those willing to pay a bit more may prefer the better-maintained Hotel Maison Boutique or the pool-equipped Ramada Suites.

It's also close to public transportation options, with Pasar Seni monorail station a six-minute stroll away and Plazaq Raykat station a seven-minute walk. In addition to numerous shops and restaurants, there are historical landmarks and cultural activities within walking distance. Kuala Lumpur International Airport is about a 45-minute drive.

Compact bathrooms have showers with bright-red panels, but some are wet room-style and may get floors wet. Family Rooms are available.
