Scene
Chic and streamline boutique hotel with a monochromatic look
The Queen Boutique Hotel is situated in a white, 19th-century four-story townhouse. Though the exterior is historical, the interiors are pure monochromatic modernism. Guests are greeted at a white reception desk, and the gray stone floor leads into a lobby lounge that chicly pairs white marble floors with exposed-brick walls. Angular, origami-like armchairs and couches are upholstered in gray and black and gathered on rugs around modern white coffee tables. The restaurant is surprisingly sophisticated considering its basement location -- a well-lit brick tunnel leads to a small bar, while the restaurant features black and white decor and a stone accent wall. Guests tend to be leisure travelers and tourists, especially couples.
Location
In walking distance to Krakow's main attractions
Queen Boutique Hotel is situated on a busy main road, walking distance to both the Jewish Quarter and Old Town. It's an exceptional location for sightseers, as guests can walk to almost all major attractions in 20 minutes or less. Some note that a nearby soup kitchen attracts homeless people to the neighborhood, but this doesn't seem to cause any issues. Parking can be a pain -- there are limited spots outside of the hotel, but guests usually park in a guarded lot about a 15-minute walk away. The hotel offers a roundtrip airport shuttle for an extra fee.- Five-minute walk to the Jewish Quarter
Rooms
Romantic rooms with minibars, LED TVs, and bathrooms with heated floors
Guest rooms are romantic and sophisticated with a soft color palette of beige and brown. In the Classic Rooms, beige and brown wall-to-wall carpeting meets beige damask wallpaper and dark wooden furniture. White bedding is paired with plush, leathery headboards that matches modern, curved chairs and small glass tables on teardrop bases. The black-and-beige bathrooms are modern and roomy with underfloor heating, standing showers, hairdryers, bathrobes and slippers, and free Geneva Guild toiletries. Rooms are air-conditioned and have desks and wardrobes with storage space and safes. Other in-room amenities include 32-inch LED TVs with international channels and free Wi-Fi. They also come with coffee/tea service, free bottled water, and well-stocked minibars. The Queen Suite is particularly luxurious, with a sophisticated living room and other upgrades, like a 65-inch TV and an Xbox. Views either look out over Wawel Castle or the Jewish Quarter. Note that there have been some complaints of traffic noise in street-facing rooms. Some rooms have balconies, and Sky Rooms have skylights.
Features
Exceptional restaurant, free breakfast buffet -- but spa is small without a gym
For a small boutique property, this hotel manages to pack in a few luxe amenities, but it doesn't check all the boxes. The Amarylis Restaurant and bar are classy despite their basement location. The free breakfast buffet includes unlimited sparkling wine, hot and cold dishes, and an a la carte menu (some add-ons cost an extra fee). For lunch and dinner, the restaurant offers a seasonal menu with international and fusion meals, and guests rave about the food. There's also a cocktail hour, live piano music, and room service is available 24-hours.The hotel has a small spa with a Finnish sauna and relaxation room, though each of these can only accommodate two people at a time. The spa also has a treatment room and offers an extensive range of services including massages, facials, manis and pedis, and other body treatments, but there's no pool or gym on-site.The front desk is manned 24 hours, and there's a concierge on staff who can help with tours, tickets, laundry/dry cleaning, airport transfers, in-room childcare, and other services. Guests find staff friendly and accommodating. The hotel also has facilities for meetings, weddings, and other events. A desk in the lobby offers a computer and printer for guests' use, plus Wi-Fi is free throughout. Dogs and cats are allowed for an extra fee.
