The Aslanis Village is a small value hotel aimed at budget-minded families and couples willing to sacrifice a central location for lower prices. The quiet Aslanis offers free Wi-Fi, 24-hour front desk service, on-site cocktails and dining, and a clean pool. The 40 traditionally designed rooms have kitchenettes and balconies, although some furnishings are worn. If the hotel's dated design scheme and fees for air-conditioning are deal breakers, try the Hotel Tigaki’s Star instead.
Scene
Traditional family hotel with casual buffet dining and tropical landscaping
The Aslanis Village is run by a husband and wife duo and offers a quaint, clean, and comfortable atmosphere. The property comprises three buildings surrounded by tropical landscaping. Some fixtures and furnishings -- such as the playground equipment -- are worn. The small lobby is traditional with tile floors and a marble front desk/bar top that wraps around the room. The lobby bar appeals to families, with snacks for sale, comfy classic beige and black sofas, coffee tables, and a flat-screen TV.
Location
South of the Alikes Salt Lake in Tigaki
The Aslanis Village is on the west coast of the island, a convenient seven-minute walk to the Alikes Salt Lake and 15 minutes on foot to the beach. Marmari -- 22 minutes away on foot -- offers shops, bars, and restaurants. Tigkaki -- with taverns and a lovely beach -- is an eight-minute drive, and can easily be reached by bicycle. The Go Kart Kardamena is just under half an hour by car and getting to the airport takes a little less than 20 minutes. It’s 17 minutes to Kos, where popular sites include the Roman Odeon, the Neratzia Castle, and the Ancient Agora.
Rooms
Kid-friendly rooms with bunk beds, kitchenettes, flat-screen TVs, and balconies
Rooms range from smaller rooms for two to one-bedroom family rooms that sleep up to four guests. Features include small flat-screen TVs, tile floors, blue and white traditional furnishings (some of which is outdated and worn), and kitchenettes with mini-fridges, kettles, and sinks, but not much cutlery or cookware. The use of air-conditioning and in-room safes costs extra. Family rooms have bunk beds and special welcoming touches such as bottles of wine and towels folded into swans. Each room comes with a balcony or terrace with plastic patio furniture that looks out over the gardens and pool. Bathrooms are basic, with shower/tub combos.
Features
A small, clean pool and a grassy playground
The hotel offers a small, well-maintained pool, with a narrow deck that has white lounge chairs (without cushions) and white parasols. There’s also a lawn with additional lounge chairs for sunbathing as well as an outdoor shower. A fenced-off section of the pool serves as the kids' pool. Just next to the pool area is a grassy playground with an outdoor ping pong table. Ice cream is available at the outdoor terrace, which has casual and stylish furniture and a small mounted flat-screen TV. The main restaurant has a casual, family vibe, with white traditional furniture, a buffet, and beer on tap. Near the outdoor parking lot is a lovely, small Orthodox church painted blue and white. The interiors feature gold iconography, tile floors, and a few chairs.
