Bottom Line
The Liki Tiki Village is a gated large resort with 638 spacious one, two, and three-bedroom condos for families willing to ignore the outdated tropical furnishings -- and a timeshare sales pitch -- in exchange for a budget-friendly, all-inclusive getaway in driving distance to Disney World. The resort's facilities are in need of renovation, but there are sports activities for everyone, with two heated pools, two hot tubs, and a children's water play area that includes slides and small waterfalls, which the slightly more modern (and similarly priced) competitor, Summer Bay Orlando By Exploria, doesn't yet offer.

Scene
Tiki family all-inclusive resort
Surrounded by palm trees and small lakes, the Liki Tiki Village is a condo complex inspired by the tropical Orlando location. The lobby's unstylish palm tree carpeting and woven bamboo wall furnishings are in harmony with the outside tiki decorations that may appeal to families, especially children. Shipwreck Sally's poolside bar and grill features tiki statue seats and a mounted fake shark head. The large pool and water play area is manned by lifeguards and is decorated with fishing nets, tiki huts, an erupting volcano waterfall and kitschy, but functional lightweight pool furniture.
Location
In proximity to Orlando's most popular family theme parks
Dotted with lakes that are inhabited by alligators and other Florida wildlife, the area offers families the opportunity to fish or boat on the water when they are not exploring the kid-friendly theme parks that are in reach by car. The area's public transportation is inefficient for getting to the attractions. Walt Disney World is a 10-minute drive from the Liki Tiki Village. SeaWorld is farther away from the resort -- about a 32-minute car ride. The Kennedy Space Center takes about an hour and 15 minutes by car. Right off the 192 Highway, the resort is less than five minutes by car to a 7-Eleven, Papa Johns Pizza, and Publix Super Market.
Rooms
Large, basic condos with washers/dryers and flat-screen TVs
The rattan furniture, tropical hanging pictures, beige walls, and white kitchen appliances give the condos at the Liki Tiki Village a slightly outdated appearance while still being functional for budget-conscious families with washers/dryers, living rooms, dining areas, and patios or balconies. Rooms come with flat-screen TVs, free Wi-Fi, kitchen supplies, and views of the resort’s lush green grounds. Guests recommend asking the front desk beforehand for a renovated room as some of the rooms’ furnishings and decorations are more worn than others.
Features
Family-friendly features include a mini golf course and sports activities
The Liki Tiki Village caters to families and offers enough resort activities to keep the little ones busy all day, if parents decide to not drive to the area's popular theme parks. Families can putt around on a cute, but sparsely decorated, nine-hole mini golf course or get some exercise with the family by renting the resort's Surrey multi-person bikes or playing on tennis, basketball, or volleyball courts. Pedal boats and fishing gear, including bait, is also available -- although guests are warned to be careful of alligators that inhabit the area waters. An on-site small gym with large windows offers indoor exercise with free water and clean towels.
