Scene
Nudist resort near the American Nudist Research Library and the theme parks near Orlando
Open since 1964, the Cypress Cove Nudist Resort, sprawled over more than 300 acres, has garnered repeat visitors and members over the years. Single men must be members of Cypress Cover or have previous nudist resort experience. Though the resort has family-oriented features, most of the guests are mature couples.Guests enter through a circle drive off a long county road and are greeted at the front desk, which is more reminiscent of a doctor’s office than a resort. Here, there is also a general store with snacks, swim gear, drinks, naturist magazines, and an ATM. At the boutique, jewelry, cover ups, hats, bags, and floaties for the pool are on sale. There are two swimming pools (no swimwear in the pool), and the poolside bar, Cheeks, offers both indoor and outdoor seating on plastic patio furniture. The sand, volleyball court, and nine-hole golf course need updating. There are no other nudist resorts in the area -- the closest is two hours north in Pierson. The location is ideal for those for its proximity to Orlando and the theme parks.Throughout the year, there are special events such as Parrot Head festival, Nude Palooza, family-friendly weekends, luaus, and more.
Location
Close to the theme parks and steps away from the nudist research library
The resort is located just west of Brown Lake, where many guests opt to swim or paddle boat when there isn’t a high risk of alligators. The sign for the resort is discreet, and the resort's buildings block the view of any nudity. The American Nudist Research Library is located next door. Across the street from the resort is a convenience store, car repair shop, bank, home improvement store, and a high school. Located in Kissimmee, Walt Disney World, Universal Studios, and the other major parks are a 30-minute drive north.
Rooms
Modern furnishings and cooling colors in the contemporary rooms
The rooms have undergone renovations, and include tiled flooring and cool-blue accent walls. Curtains are lime and turquoise, with matching bed runners and a throw pillow on the bed, which has a dark wood headboard attached to the wall. On the ceiling is a fan with lighting. The desk, dresser, and closet are also dark wood, and there's a flat-screen TV in the entertainment console. Each unit has a separate air-conditioning unit. By the door entrance is a granite counter with a coffeemaker, microwave, and mini-fridge. In the small bathroom is a bathtub shower, toilet, and metal shelving for towels. The Villa Apartments are much the same, but with large living room areas with cream couches and large leather ottomans. They also have full-size kitchens with dining room tables and all the necessary accessories for cooking and eating. Some guests opt to stay in their RVs at a park on the property, or camp out. There are also pet-friendly rooms available, with a cleaning fee added.
