The 316 condominiums in this mid-range beach resort are right across the street from the Pacific Ocean and close to beaches, restaurants, shops, and golf. The one -and two-bedroom condos have plenty of space, full kitchens, and private balconies, although few have Wi-Fi or Internet. Units are individually-owned, so amenities and decor vary, but unlike similar properties, visitors can choose which condos they want to book. Some units are impressively modern, the grounds are lush, and the amenities -- including two pools, a hot tub, tennis courts, and barbecue grills -- are plentiful. The most outstanding feature, however, is the stunning beach across the street. For the location and the amenities, Maui Kamaole is a solid value.
Scene
Scenic rolling hills, with low-rise buildings scattered on pretty gardens
The 23-acre resort is a relaxed, scenic spot for a vacation, filled with tropical gardens and palm trees. It is located directly across from the sparkly waters of Kamaole III beach, and also near other great beaches. The spot is well-cared for, and cheery, with manicured grounds, and buildings in good condition. The condos are spread among 13 low-rise buildings, and are surrounded by bright green grass and blossoming flowers. The setting is undeniably lovely, and the place gets bustling with beach-happy vacationers and families with kids. The property also attracts some business travelers who come for conferences at resorts located down the street.
Location
A convenient spot by the beach, right outside of Central Kihei
The Maui Kamaole condos are located on Maui's southwest shore -- the sunniest, driest part of the island. They lie directly across the street from Kamaole Beach Park III, a family-friendly beach drenched in sun for the majority of the year, that's a great spot for scuba diving and water sports. The Kihei boat harbor, located across the street, has daily morning trips to Molokini Crater, a fantastic snorkeling and dive spot in Maui. Central Kihei is about a ten-minute walk away from the condos. Restaurants, shops, and grocery stores are within a mile radius, as are Mokapu Beach Park and the Wailea Blue Golf Course. The course at Elleair Maui Golf Club is a 10-minute drive north, and the Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale Sanctuary Visitor Center is also 10 minutes away by car. Kahului Airport is a 30-minute drive away.
