The Reach Key West, Curio Collection by Hilton

Key West, Florida, United States

The Reach offers respite from rowdy, gaudy Key West with its brand of relaxed sophistication and its beachfront location. Its 150 rooms are what you would expect from the Waldorf Astoria crowd: spacious, modern and clean, with generic high-end furnishings and comfortable beds outfitted in crisp linens. They feel just a tad less upscale than those at the Casa Marina, its sister hotel next door (partly due to the use of carpet, rather than Casa Marina's tile or wood), but the hotel's private white-sand beach with a pier for fishing is just as nice. Wi-Fi is included in the resort fee, rooms have work desks, and there's a small internet corner with a couple of computers.

Margaritaville Key West Resort & Marina

Key West, Florida, United States

This 178-room waterfront hotel in Old Town Key West is a real resort, with dozens of features, including boat rentals, shops, a fitness center, and a marina. However, it’s not quite up to the standards of other Westin properties, with somewhat bare contemporary rooms, cramped bathrooms, a pool that's a bit small for the size of the hotel, and a location right by a busy and noisy cruise ship dock. There’s nothing really bad about the resort, but there’s nothing outstanding either -- it’s just slightly better than adequate.

Hyatt Centric Key West Resort and Spa

Key West, Florida, United States

The Hyatt Key West Resort & Spa underwent a multi-million dollar renovation in 2007. The result is a modern tropical resort right on the water's edge. All 118 rooms have a soothing beach-inspired feel and are complete with privatebalconies. Bathrooms are spacious and modern with funky elevated sinks and rainforest showerheads in walk-in showers. Perks here include the peaceful outdoor pool with waterfall and direct beach access -- although the beach here is quite small and not ideal for sunbathing. Further amenities include a bright fitness center, bike rentals, floating dock, and two restaurants.

4

Sheraton Suites Key West

Key West, Florida, United States

The Sheraton Suites is a mid-sized, all-suite hotel that's across a busy street from Smathers Beach. Suites are spacious with a cozy living area separate from the bedroom, and bathrooms have big marble showers. The hotel is well maintained and amenities are numerous, including a bright, well-equipped gym, big pool with tiki bar, and business center. Downtown Key West and Duval Street are a six-minute drive away -- a hotel shuttle offers free transportation until 11 p.m. -- making this hotel a better fit for families seeking sand and sun than people looking for nearby nightlife.
