Biscayne Suites

This all-suite hotel appeals mostly to families who appreciate the affordable rooms with useful amenities for vacationing with children. The neighborhood is quiet, but close enough to the beach and boardwalk for convenient access. It is a simple building with four stories of rooms over a parking garage and ground-floor lobby. The lobby is small but functional, with a marble front desk that seems out of place next to a drop-tile ceiling and worn furniture. There’s a small bench, but not enough space to sit while waiting for check-in. Hallways throughout the hotel have a homey feeling, with a few beachy murals adding charm. 

Biscayne Suites is in northern Ocean City, a couple of blocks from the beach. There are residences, hotels, and a couple of shops in the immediate area, including an ice cream shop next door. From the hotel, it is a four-minute walk to the beach and boardwalk at the Ocean City Music Pier, a popular venue for oceanfront concerts. Nearby on the boardwalk, there are two mini-golf parks, a water park, a vintage movie house, an art gallery, and an amusement park. There are a variety of restaurant and cafes within an eight-minute walk of the hotel. It is a 15-minute walk, or a four-minute drive, to a grocery store, pharmacy, and bank. It is a five-minute drive to a harbor with boat rentals. There’s a public bus stop a minute's walk from the hotel. Philadelphia International Airport is a 70-minute drive away, without traffic. 

Homey suites are individually owned and vary widely in style and decor. Some are dated and simple, while others have fresher decor and a more relaxing atmosphere. All rooms are spacious, clean, and well-maintained. Separate bedrooms have a king-size bed and a flat-screen TV, while the living room includes a sleeper sofa with another flat-screen TV and a DVD player. Kitchenettes come with an oven, stovetop, microwave, a mini-fridge, and dishware. Bathrooms tend to be small and have a curtained shower/tub combo, hairdryer, and free soaps and shampoos. Other room options include suites with a dining room and an extra sofa bed, an additional half bath, and full-size refrigerator. A large Presidential Suite has two bedrooms, two full bathrooms, a living/dining room, and a full kitchen. Note rooms do not include a safe for valuables.

A heated rooftop pool is the best feature of this hotel. It is a simple spot with a small pool surrounded by loungers and a view of the city. There is also a separate sunbathing area with loungers and shaded tables, which guests find a nice spot to watch the sunrise. There are no gym or restaurant. Each floor has a simple laundry room with coin-operated washers and dryers. One free parking spot in the first-floor garage is provided per room, but some spots too small for larger vehicles. Wi-Fi is free throughout the hotel.
