There are plenty of restaurants and shops on the surrounding streets and it's a 10-minute drive to historic attractions like Yogyakarta Palace. It's a busy hotel, but has some nice spots for kicking back, including a secluded leafy pool area and laid-back rooftop cafe with views right to Mount Merapi. Food is available all day from the international buffet restaurant. It's popular with business guests and has several meeting spaces, plus a spa and gym. The 94 rooms and suites have a simple, modern style and plenty of space, and all include furnished balconies. Guests looking to stay in central Malioboro instead could check out Hotel Ibis, which is often similarly priced.

The 60-meter deep Jomblang Cave is a 45-minute drive, and Prambanan Temple -- with its spectacular Ramayana Dance show -- is about the same. Borodudur takes around 90 minutes to reach by car, and there are numerous sandy beaches around two hours south of the city. The international airport is just a 15-minute drive from the hotel, and shuttles can be arranged with hotel staff.
