The quiet, eco-friendly vibe of this resort may prove too low-key for some travelers, but Rhodes Resort is an excellent choice for those who wish to spend their time on the beach, in the water, or exploring the natural beauty of Jamaica, and don't need to be plugged into their gadgets every second of the day. Rhodes Resort is composed of five separate buildings grouped together on the Rhodes Hall Plantation. It prides itself on its horses and wildlife. Horses graze in grassy areas, and peacocks can be found in the gardens. Rooms and Suites are surrounded by tropical plants, palm trees, and lush landscaping, which provide a sense of privacy. Guests are within steps of the beach with its own reef-shielded bay, and can relax on sunbeds along the shoreline or take a dip in a swimming pool overlooking the ocean.

Rhodes Resort is in Green Island, about a 25-minute drive of Negril, and about a 70-minute drive to Montego Bay's Sangster International Airport. The resort is located on four acres of Rhodes Hall Plantation, a 550-acre estate known for its wildlife, including rare birds, crocodiles, and protected plants. This location provides access to both a sandy beach as well as forested areas and mangrove swamps. For those seeking live entertainment or the social life of a city, a shuttle service takes guests to Negril, where they can find golf, water parks, and nightlife.

Rhodes Resort has 27 rooms, including Suites, Villas, and Family Cottages, located in five separate buildings. They have studio apartment-style layouts, with loft sleeping areas and cooking utilities. These units can accommodate families and small groups, and extra cots and cribs are available. Some accommodations have mini-fridges and microwaves, while others have full-size refrigerators and cooking ranges. All include private decks and terraces, as well as flat-screen TVs with either satellite or local TV. Each unit is decorated differently, which can result in a hodgepodge of furnishings, with local art. High ceilings, large windows, and furnished verandas contribute to a feeling of openness and space. Some lodging options have memorable panoramic ocean views, but some of the furniture shows wear and tear, and kitchen items such as toaster ovens show years of use. Rooms are clean, tidy and designed to meet basic needs, rather than to provide luxury, but still offer such modern comforts as air-conditioning. Only bar soap and toilet paper are provided in bathrooms, so guests should plan on bringing their own toiletries. Two suites in the Sunshine Building feature jetted tubs. 

The resort connects guests with many on- and off-site expeditions and tours such as horseback riding, diving, fishing, and boat tours, and will arrange transportation to and from these activities, which come with extra fees. Equipment can be rented. Bayview Restaurant serves a combination of Jamaican and international cuisine, with indoor and outdoor seating options. The grounds include an outdoor pool and a private beach area. A free shuttle service is available to take guests to Negril. Airport transfers are also available, but fees depend on the number of riders. This resort has free Wi-Fi and pre-programmed cell phones for guest use. A continental breakfast of toast, jam, and fruit is free for all guests.
